How many original members of your team?

May 26, 2008 at 01:25AM View BBCode

This is the 12th season, 1961. The SL Browns have only one player, pitcher Karl Dunn, who is an Original Brown. He's 113-116 with one allstar appearance. A guy who was better would have been traded when we rebuilt, and a guy who was worse wouldn't have lasted this long.

How many original members of your team are there? The rules are simple:

* First season he played in the majors was 1950.
* Only played with one team to date.

I bet there are guys who will last another five seasons.

Interesting topic... I actually have three left on my Chicago Wiseguys

[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?player=nobody&mode=stats&id=3758810]Eric Avery[/url]

[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?player=nobody&mode=stats&id=3758667]Mark Vance[/url]

[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?player=nobody&mode=stats&id=3758763]Scott Tabler[/url]

Tabler and Avery should hang up the spikes soon, but I think Vance will hang around for five years of middle of the standings baseball!!

I have 5 who match your origoinal draft and played in 1950.
Crutis Salisbury 2b (One of the all time greats in the league)
Mark Masters SP
Greg Callahan RP
Lynn Bailey SS/3B
Al Steele OF (Played in 1950 and not that much after, at 30 Steel could hang around a long time yet. But he will not play much either way.)

3 others from my origional draft are still on my team but they did not play in 1950
Larry Rudderham
Freddie Heise
Bill Fear

I only have one Crab left who played in 1950 - Hector Lassetter:

He's been a middle-of-the-road player for me - he wasn't good enough to deal away in the early 1950s re-build - yet he really wasn't a star I could build around, either.

My original squad was much older than I thought we would be - so I don't have too many guys left in Year 12.
