Heh...they'll be asking that question in Boston all winter.

Oh, the FOX execs are in tears. No Yankees? No Red Sox? It's a crime against nature!

And for the record, for the remainder of the post season I am officially a pathetic bandwagon Rays fan, just like I was a pathetic bandwagon Rockies fan. It's shamefully enjoyable.

Wow this makes the Orioles look even more awful, doesn't it?

Call me insane, but perhaps if the postseason games didn't end after midnight I would actually bother to watch them occasionally.

Are the ratings down? Again? Perhaps MLB should consider the option of not slowly killing their future fanbase. Just a humble suggestion.

when gven the choice between doing what's best for the long-term health of the game and the short-term health of the owners, mlb will do what it always does- chase the dollar signs.

Congrats to the Rays. Nice to see a team come this far with all of the young talent they have and truly playing together as a team. It's fun to watch. Should be a good series!

Proof that tanking works in MLB too!

Go Rays.

explain this "playing together as a team" thing. were they like... helping each other swing the bat? Or did you just parrot a terrible talking head point?

And Duff, yes, tanking with dumb owners doesnt ever get you out of the gutter. this is true in SimD too.

ok, smartass. Playing together as a team means not looking out for yourself. There are no attitudes on that team, nobody that thinks they are better than the rest of the team. They dumped their problem children in Dukes and Young, to build a team with good attitudes and chemistry. The same reason the Sox were forced to trade Manny. Of course they wanted his bat, but the guy wouldn't play here, wouldn't try here, was disrupting the clubhouse and pissing off other players, that is not conducive to a championship winning team.

BJ Upton has been disciplined twice for not running out ground balls.

there was a very good article on ESPN that put most of the blame for manny's disruptive behavior on his agent, and i am inclined to believe that article, almost in full. now, all the excellent hitting manny did before he left boston, i blame all that on manny himself. because he is one great, great hitter.

besides, with manny and a pitcher or two on board next season, the yankees might even keep the doggy sox out of the playoffs. i bet manny doesn't disrupt the yankees at all. i bet they just stick him right there behind A Rod and watch it fly out of the park. it will fly out in Fenway, extra good.

Right, and will continue to be. In fact, he was benched for awhile.

Was Manny? Absolutely not.

That's the difference. No censored attitude in Tampa and if I were going to start a team, it would be built just like this Tampa team is built.

Also Manny, who was not benched for not running out ground balls and probably played at least one game with earphones in his ears, has two World Series rings. BJ Upton? Only one (he found it at a pawn shop).

let's face it, the sox didn't miss manny at all there against the devil rays. not a bit. all the justins and jacobys and jeds and jasons just carried that team. i bet they sweep the phillies.

Manny was way worse this year than he had ever been, so don't start that censored . Also, Manny was on a great team in the past. BJ Upton? Not so much.

100 games.
.299/.398/.529/20 home runs and 68 RBI. terrible.
