I don't think it's our time just yet. Cincy has been underperforming, but you can't keep them down.
Anyhow, it's nice to be here, even if it isn't my time. We will not fuss if we end up in the pack later.
So for right now, we're just gonna trash talk Cincy and Chicago.

This is the season that STL wanted to reach .500. At the quarter-season mark, here we are hanging around with Chicago and Cincy at the top of the NL.I don't think it's our time just yet. Cincy has been underperforming, but you can't keep them down.

Odd fact...it was St. Louis that ended my run in the early '50's of three straight division titles...now that I'm reaching for an unprecedented 5th straight division title, it looks like the Browns yet again want to ruin my fun.

We in Cincinnati promise we aren't done just yet. We have the experience of having been down before, we're not sweating it. Though props are in order to the Browns, to be honest I did see you competing, but not at the level you are currently. Great job with the team you have now...if you guys keep it up, should be a great 3 team race (or 4? To analyze the early results a bit further, I'd show you the coin of the realm - runs. For the four teams that Emidas mentioned, here are the runs scored, runs allowed, net, and wins.
The first thing that jumps out is that ARI is overachieving. They have not had the pitching to support a contending season, so far. I'll just go out on a limb and say that without a trade for pitching, they'll fade into the pack.
In the case of the Browns, we netted +47 runs all of last season. I don't expect us to net more than +150 for this season. That would mean a big old swoon so that by September I'll be sitting farther down the bench, with my buddies from Arizona.
The second thing that jumps out is that CIN is playing better than their record shows. I would project that they'll start winning a lot of the close games that they've been losing. It's really just flipping cards anyway, and with their skills, the flips will go in their favor a lot of the time.
I'm seeing a CIN/CHN matchup in the NLCS. I've seen young teams look good for 40 games and then play under .500 the rest of the way.
But this league is a fun one, and if STL can stick their finger in somebody's eye, we will.

We also cannot foresee the effects a trade might make. Looking back at last year, the deal for Hap Kuiper solidified the Wiseguys as a playoff team and eventual NL Champion (much like the trade between Cin and StL for Greg Brown all those years ago). Will we see another blockbuster like that to shift the balance of power? Who knows. It should be an exciting season though, to be sure.

That's is an exceptional analysis. Looking at that, I would change my opinion to a three-team race, but if Arizona keeps stealing wins like they have been you never know. Right now I think I'll be happy just sitting in the Wild Card spot with the competitiveness we've seen thus far.We also cannot foresee the effects a trade might make. Great stuff. I lost my closer for 38 games, so maybe that's why I'm losing close games. Though my veteran replacement,[url=http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?player=nobody&mode=stats&id=3758667]Mark Vance[/url], is holding his own. And emidas is so, so right. Trades will effect this run. Hmmmm.... time to check the rosters.

They have positive runs, a bit better than ARIZ. I wouldn't start selling playoff tickets yet, but I so think they are going to pass ARIZ.

Agreed. New York does look in prime position to make a move on ARI, but I wouldn't make the bold statement of including them in the hunt just yet. They do have talent on their roster but I don't see them on the level of the big three just yet.

3 games past the halfway point in the season, and we are all deadlocked at 55-29. I'm still bitter that the progress we made during our 14-game win streak ended at the hands of a sweep from the Wiseguys, but still glad to at least be tied.

No mercy? Wow. I've been swept by the Wiseguys once already too. I'm pretty sure that STL will be the bridesmaid at this wedding, but our policy is still going to be to poke everyone else in the eye.
