Instead of putting points on youth which can come up with some totally different age ranges depending on what everyone else does, why not just allow us to pick an age range? They could be like 17-21, 22-26, 27-31, 32+. You'd pick your ideal range for player or pitchers and also your 2nd choice, either up or down.
Another thing about an initial draft is that in my opinion there were too many crappy old players drafted. It's reasonable to think that for an old player to still be in the league at age 36 they would have to be pretty darn good, otherwise they would have been retired a long time ago.
