Merged League Details - please confirm you are still interested

July 21, 2009 at 05:09PM View BBCode

Here is what seems to be the most requested GPD and league rules. Please confirm that you are interested. If we get 16 replies, we will set this up this week.

12 GPD
System 2 Minor League (20 CPs)
System 3 Injuries (Batters & Pitchers injured equally)
Regular Development System
Cost: $70 for first 8 month session, $55 for each renewal period after that
Maximum of 5 CPs traded or acquired per season

Let me know if you have any questions. If you would sign up for such a league, please reply to this thread.

Thanks,
Tyson

I would like to the Philly Freedom of the ABL in this league. The only catch is that the ABL is currently playing it's last season. I hope that does not exclude me from being in the league!!!

Yes...I would play. I am still deciding between NYN from the HRBL or NYA from the MVL. I still think I'd prefer variable development, though.

I will play with any rules as long as I can play with the Freedom!

Hmmm, it's possible with all the options that we added to the game that it will be very difficult to start merged leagues.

I'll leave this thread open for another week or so, otherwise we'll table the merged league until we have a few more leagues fold maybe later this year or into 2010.

i had 9 teams ready to be in the merged league in my proposed idea(http://www.simdynasty.com/oldforum-viewthread.jsp?tid=232931).

If we create that league w/ concessions to make it easier (2 teams switching, no rule V), and add the owners interested here (including those who want variable development) , we will have 13 teams in the merged portion.

I don't think finding 3 owners to merge teams in and 3 people to start fresh (2 more people have told me to add them when I get approved), would be a challenging task.

I think our goals are very similar and if we can work together, everyone wins.

Let me know your thoughts...

I would be interested in the proposed format, sounds decent .. not sure what team to move over yet, depends if the CRL is kept alive, if not, I would take a new team

Depending on when this starts (finances are tight for the next two weeks or so) I would be interested in joining as a new team. None of my leagues are defunct, nor would I want to bring in one of my old teams (part of the fun is building a new team). But this twin league sounds good to me.

TYSON it seems obvious just by making it variable development with no CP's traded you would get a full merged league so why not do that ?? Also I love THACEO'S idea and am all for it as well.

I am very interested in bringing my ABL team into the league that thaceo has proposed. I also want to mention that I believe he already has the majority of the A league lined up and ready to go, and it could be filled up quickly if we can get some support from Admin on this one.

That said, I also have a defunct team from the WWL that I would like to revive in any other merged league that moves forward.

The information folks posted in this thread seemed to indicate more were interested in not having these options turned on:

http://www.simdynasty.com/oldforum-viewthread.jsp?tid=230277

It seems folks are pretty split down the middle on this issue.

There are quite a few applications ahead of theaceo's for new leagues, so don't hold your breath on that one.

Do any of those other applications involve merged leagues (which you are trying to start at the moment)?

Do any of those leagues have over 20 people interested in paying right now?

And I wouldn't call now 10 interested in my league vs 3 in this idea split down the middle...

All new leagues fill quickly and usually have a bunch of people interested.

We have no plans to allow other leagues besides the OCL to use the ladder system.

What if I got a merged league filled up w/ 16 teams and the same rules. Owners who don't have a team to merge, can take another team from a defunct league..I think it is a fair compromise..

Yes, that is all I'm trying to do here. I based the rules on what people indicated they wanted in that thread. Doesn't matter to me what the rules are as long as we can find 16 people who are interested.

I'm confused. Which owners are going to be in thaceo's league, and which are going to be in Tyson's league?
