Changing the schedule to increase key September matchups
June 25, 2010 at 04:39PM View BBCode
At present, there are 7 21-game loops and then a 15-game chunk vs. five opponents at the end. Bingo, 162 games.
The suggestion is to, based on the previous season's standings, move some of the LCS rematch series to August and September. In other words, let the previous season's 7th and 8th place teams face off more in the summer than the spring so the 1st and 2nd place teams can do the same. Similar, schedule the 1st vs 8th place series in the spring.
There is nothing like having three three-game series against a contender in September to prove you really belong.

i like it, i like any schedule idea that doesn't have me playing all the teams in the same order all the time (Chicago every Monday!), would even like to see 2 game and 4 game series. But I don't think they're gonna make any changes to the schedule, would take too much work I think.

All leagues use the exact same schedule for all years. When Tyson went in and adjusted the schedule to allow for some variety, the only way he could do it was to change the schedule algorithm for years that had no leagues in that season. It was a time consuming process and was a pain in the neck. That's how we know.
