Sox Trade Deadline

June 24, 2010 at 05:39PM View BBCode

What do you think they will do? Bullpen? OF? Maybe a catcher, since they will have a humongous hole if Victor gets hurt (this year) and/or doesn't re-sign with the Sox (next year).

Is Lowell gone for sure? Who wants him most, maybe Minnesota?

Lets hope something at least.

If they don't get a bullpen guy Bards arm will fall off.

If they don't get an OF offenseive production will seriously go down. There is no way the McDonald, Nava, and Hall can keep up what they are doing.

I think a new catcher is the least important of the 3. Frankly, I'd love to see them go for Gonzalez. But I'm not sure Theo will want to trade what it is going to take to get him.

We shall see.

I don't think AGone is available, as long as the Friars stay (inexplicably) in contention. If we did get him where would he play? AGone at 1B and move Youk to left?

I agree, need RP(s) most of all.

If they can get healthy they should be right there at the end. They really need Ellsbury to get healthy and for another starter to step up.

If they make a move, I think it will be in the OF.

Thing is, with Papi returning to Form they don't need A Gonzalez as much, and to trade Casey kelly and multiple other great prospects I think they'd rather not do.

Bullpen has been struggling but hopefully when Beckett comes back it'll help by having Wake in the pen

In the outfield, Drew has been solid, Ellsbury returning I don't really see who they'd get, they have a bit of a jam in the outfield

Pedroia's out and Buchholz gets injured running the bases. I've always hated interleague play and now I hate it even more. Let's hope Buchholz's injury isn't serious. Leaves a big hole in the rotation.

Yea we're pretty hosed right now... especially if the pitching doesn't hold up.

buchholz got hurt running bases? Yikes...that happened to Chien-ming Wang in interleague play a couple years ago and basically ended his career.

Right now, it looks like they need a relief pitcher. Delcarmen is supposed to have his elbow looked at and if he needs to go on the DL they'll need somebody to be that bridge pitcher that gets them to Bard and Papelbon.
