Most of you non-Dodger or non-Cub fans won't care but they're having a crazy game tonight. First, in the 3rd, the Dodgers had 5 base hits for 2 runs. The strange part was they had 4 infield hits, FOUR!!!!!!!! Then comes Alex Cora's at-bat in the 7th. He went from a 2-1 count and fouled off 14 balls off until he hit a homer on the 18th pitch. An 18 pitch at-bat is amazing enough but Clement made more pitches in that at-bat than any inning other than the third, not to mention Alex Cora hit the homer. Sorry if none of you care but that was a crazy gameMay 13, 2004 at 06:28AM View BBCode
Dude, I just wrote about that in another post... I missed the third inning (lets just say I was indesposed), but that Cora at bat was unbelievable. I don't think I've ever seen an at bat like that, where the guy ends up with a homer... I mean, he saw every pitch Clement had, and then some. Wow, I was upset with the outcome, but I appreciate good baseball. I think Clement just threw one strike too many, he gave it a whale of an effort, but Cora was just too tough this time.May 13, 2004 at 04:03PM View BBCode
i saw that game. I believe that they actually had 3 infield hits because one of them was ruled an error (although i agree with the announcers that it shouldnt have been)May 13, 2004 at 09:20PM View BBCode
correction: i watched until the dodgers scored 2 runs, and then determined: a) that is impossible b) the Cubs cant score TWO runs against the dodgers and c) i was done eating my hot pocketMay 13, 2004 at 10:23PM View BBCode
Cora's at bat was amazing. I was listening to it on the radio, and I was like "If he hits a homer that would be awesome." So he did.May 13, 2004 at 11:36PM View BBCode
happy, it was ruled an error, but the officials changed the ruling the next inning. They might have changed it back but the last time I looked, the Cubs had no errors in the game.May 14, 2004 at 01:26AM View formatted
