Colts are making some BIG moves this year and going "all in". I like to see teams put themselves out there and go for it so good luck.June 30, 2011 at 04:00PM View BBCode
Big trade by the Colts, but I am confident we can hold them off for the next 26 games.June 30, 2011 at 07:34PM View BBCode
Funny thing is the Colts traded away SP Normie Fisher to Oalkland last season and now he is in the running for the Cy Young against the Colts star pitcher Aurelio Thomas. Yes the Colts management has grown tired of being in the middle of the pack after being in the basement for so long and has decided to throw everything towards a playoff spot including throwing the kitchen sink at it as well. This season we have brought over SS/2B John Fuhrman (big hitter)from KC, SS Bobby Pruess (defending MVP) and SP Hector Camelli from Colorado. 3 seasons ago we brought over what should have been a solid big hitting catcher in Charlie Patton from KC who hit roughly 25 homers and 75 to 80 RBI a season for them but has only one good season out of 3 here in Chicago and is usually now hitting just .220's with little homer power. --------------- So the future is officially mortgaged now so we either win of fail miserably.June 30, 2011 at 08:35PM View BBCode
I find it also funny that two pitchers in the NL currently in the top 5 for CY Young were former A's (Johnny Kozar & Jayhawk Peden)....would looove to have those guys right now, especially Jayhawk who won 3 CY Youngs after leaving Oakland...but cant complain, I got the youth I wanted...frankly, I was not expecting to be this competitive already, but my offense has demanded more pitching and my staff has been rock-solid so far...lets see how the stretch run goes...it will be Aurelio vs. Fisher in game 3 of our current huge 3 game series.July 01, 2011 at 03:37AM View BBCode
the last 3 games of the season pit Oakland vs Chicago so as long as Chicago stays within 3 games it should be a good finish.July 02, 2011 at 04:00PM View BBCode
A sweep of the last 3 games of the season puts Chicago in the playoffs and Oakland out.July 02, 2011 at 05:27PM View BBCode
well we got it to the 2nd last game of the season, not bad, good luck Oakland.July 02, 2011 at 05:27PM View formatted

yeah and with Thomas's loss with his last start of the season probably cost him the CY YOUNG award. This Chicago team still can not catch any breaks since the recent ownership has taken over. No major awards have been won and no playoffs to speak of. Thomas will have lost out on 2 Cy Young awards and no matter what moves the GM makes to improve the team they still end up falling short and now no first round picks in the future. Sounds like the owner may end up selling the team and finding a new league to play in . cheersJuly 02, 2011 at 05:41PM View BBCode
Don't leave you only came in 2 seasons before I did and this is my 1st playoffs! + you've got a great team still, you can get picks back in no hurry if you wanted...and DPL has by far the most consistently deep drafts I've ever had in any league so farPages: 1
