WHY?

October 22, 2011 at 07:41PM View BBCode

Why are we voting every other trade in this league? I feel this option is getting abused. This is the only league I'm in of many that has a problem with owners trading.

Maybe this isn't the league for me idk.

I've had nothing to do with the protests, but as far as I can tell we've only had two protests in the last month. That doesn't seem like that big of a deal to me, considering the amount of protests I've seen in other leagues.

It's not the amount of protests it's the type of protests they were. Someone protested a 2nd round pick for a B+ pitcher. Really? I hope these are just mistakes because the option is right there by the trade info.

I thought the last trade was a bit lopsided, but not an overturn able one. Didn't meet the criteria. The other protested one had to have been a mistake. Made no sense to try to overturn.

I agree. I've been here since the beginning of the league, and can count on one hand how many times we've voted on overturning a trade, including the last 2 we've had in the last month. When I saw both of the complaints, I just wrote it off as someone clicked the link by accident.

This is becoming ludicrous. The last vote is about two players that will never make an impact in the league!

Effective immediately, anyone initiating a protest will need to enter a specific reason for the protest on the protest page. These go to Admin for review. Although protests are anonymous to the league, the protest initiators are tracked, and if there is a pattern of protest abuse, the abuser will lose his ability to protest.

Protests are not part of the game simulation. They are an administrative process outside of the game for dealing with extreme situations. If a trade is just uneven, it is NOT an extreme situation. A protest should only be lodged if there is a specific reason to believe an owner is in collusion with another or otherwise acting in bad faith; this should almost NEVER occur in a speed league.

I have only one protest trade vote since in the league. That one did not make sense to me as players involved are never going to amount to much at ML level in my opinon.

Then you would vote to let the trade stand as it is neither collusion nor is it lopsided to affect the league balance. Two veteran owners, so not a newbie taken advantage of. This is nowhere close to an overturn able trade.

IMPORTANT: Please remember that not all trades are equal, and not all inequal trades should be overturned. A trade should only be overturned if there is bad faith on the part of one or both of the teams involved. If both teams get something they need out of the trade and neither party is taking advantage of an unaware trading partner, the trade should stand. Overturning a trade may not be used as a strategic option.

This is from admin in his post.

For me, I could care less if someone wants to protest a trade. It's soley the opinion of 1 person. If the trade isn't retartedly (is that even a word? lol) lopsided than right will prevail and it will stand. No harm done. No need for anyone to get bent out of shape over this!:spin:

LETS PLAY BALL!:D
