In one of my leagues, a team did this:
6/9/1996: Roy Parris of the Colorado Bighorn Rams has thrown a no-hitter against the Arizona D-Bags.here
6/10/1996: Doc Miller of the Colorado Bighorn Rams has thrown a no-hitter against the Arizona D-Bags.here

I was just about to post about this!
Crazy.
And Miller is an older rookie!

In related news, Arizona fires its hitting coach.

And you drafted Miller in the third round, waiving him before he even saw your minors. Ten years later he comes back to do this.

wow! maybe the craziest thing i've ever seen on the site.
that Miller's story is something else, 32 year old rookie threw a CG shutout his first start, then tops it with a no-hitter in just his third start.
on top of all that, both no-hitters came on the road!
I don't speak numberese, how's that D-Bag lineup, any good?

Arizona is currently 3rd in the NL in runs scored, but the top 4 teams are within 10 runs of each other. Colorado is also 2 games ahead of Arizona for the 2nd playoff spot. Historically, the D-Bags have been, far and away, the most dominant team of the league. In the last 43 seasons they've made the playoffs 39 times, and have won the title 11 times.

The real funny thing is... he traded away a 2nd round pick to get him back!

This is one of those rare "check it out" threads that you feel glad that you checked out. Congrats!

He was better than my 5th starter so I wanted to improve that slot. The second-rounder seemed worth it to me.

Oh I get that, trust me. I just find great humor in ironic things. I also find it greatly ironic that you wound up paying more for a guy you initially released without so much as trying to develop him. Then again, there may not have been much of a difference between the 2nd rounder you traded (if you make it to the playoffs and even the WS) than the 3rd rounder you originally drafted him with. I have made similar moves, and laughed at myself in the process.

Hindsight is always 20/20...and so is Monday-morning QB vision!
BTW, another one of my pitchers (Bobby Brown) on this team threw a no hitter this year, giving my team a total of three! Crazy! Oh, and Brown threw one last year too. This is getting a little out of hand!

I'm enjoying simi-retirement. :)
Halfway done with grad school.
Halfway through my first year (training) at the bank.
Expecting daughter #3 in August.
I'm still addicted to the site but I just can't be as involved as I was before.
