punk ass kid gets owned by some guy with a kick ass hair cut and every politically correct moron sides with bitchy overprotective mom who obviously decided to take the occasion to get as much publicity as she could, and reap benifits (EX. Balls signed by the players/bats/owners box tickets etc. balls and bats will probably get signed to get bitchy ass mom's nails done.)

Why should the guy give the foul ball to the kid? Just because he's a midget who smells like a urine and sour milk? Many people never get a shot at catching a foul ball, if you have the chance I say take it. He may have been older but how do you know it wasn't his only chance in his lifetime?

True. I hate people like that who get great seats and leave in the 6th inning after spending the whole game buying concessions and going to the little kid section. Keep the ball guy, you were paying attention enough to get the ball, unlike that little kid.[Edited on 6-18-2004 by Cubsfan13]

it isnt even a question of weather or not he SHOULD have given the ball to the pisser, it is a question of weather or not he HAS to. you have to be an asshole to want to steal a ball from a 5-year old kid, but just because the kid got a ball stolen from him and started crying doesnt mean that his mom should bitch until her kid gets a ton of free stuff, the free stuff he got is way better than getting a ball.

I think the thing that angered alot of people is that that dude was a pretty big dude and he practically pushed the kid out of the way and fell on him getting the ball. I think the question that needs to be asked is would the kid have even caught the ball? Probably not. It probably would have hit him and he woulda cried either way but stealing a ball from a little kid is low.

did you watch the frieking tape? the ball fell in between the kid and the mom, and he dove to the ground to get it. As for the whole stealing the ball scenerio, he didnt fucking steal it. he GOT it. he kicked the kids ass. the kid sucks, and got told. obviously the big guy was bigger and stronger and faster and smarter than the stupid kid, so he came up victorious. I mean come on. this is like when my dad goes to the terrace in baltimore for batting practice. he is a really good judger of balls, and he ends up getting to where the ball is gonna be way before everyone else, and then some kids end up going for the ball, and dont even look, and run straight into my dad, and my dad catches it. then they moan and complain that my dad ran them over. after that the parent is like "give the kid the ball" and my dad is like "screw you" and they fight, and my dad kicks his ass until he dies and pukes up the tofu burger his stupid ass was eating that morning. i think it just got as far as the screw you part...

I figure she was most upset because of the special "moment" that her kid missed out on because of the big oaf that dived to get the ball. The kid really couldn't seem to care less about anything going on around him. Now the guy that got the ball is a jerk, undeniably, but at least he wanted the damn ball!

If it's all about being stronger and faster, then why doesn't the kid just come back to the ballpark with a shotgun next time? I mean why not? If the bigger guy gets the ball, and the kid blows his head off, he has a right to the ball, doesn't he?

Getting a ball at a game isn't that special to anyone but kids. If it is special to you people over the age of 13, you need to grow up. It's just a ball. People should be more selfless and give the foul balls to kids. It's a good feeling to make a little kid's day.

As soon as I realized there was a little kid in front of me, I would have given it to him. My point is, the guy neglected to give the kid the ball. A lot of people have been shown on sportscenter giving the little kid next to him the ball. When it's finally caught tape that the guy didn't, there was an outrage. I agree the guy should have to give the ball back on one condition--the kid doesn't get all the free stuff. He did so does it really matter that he gets the ball.[/color]
