Congrats to Veres, Thompson, and Langsford, well deserving HOF'ers. Great job as well to the owners here in the VPL, 12 voting owners, very nice indeed!!! And as always thanks to Causey!!!

are we one and done, or will Dresser be included in the future one too?

At this point we're one and done. But maybe when we're caught up, we can explore a second chance for some players. Maybe it would be the players that got more than 50% (or some percentage) of the votes the first time through. In the early days of the VPL there was some talk of doing that, but we haven't even managed to keep up with the first ballots to date.
I assume that owners would vote the same way a second time as they did the first...so the only things that might get a guy like Dresser in would be: (1) a turnover in owners, or (2) more participation in the vote.

Might be good to have a "veterans committee" type of vote once we catch up, it would not be easy on causey though. Depending on the canidates we have going forward, Dresser and some of the near misses may be more appealing. Either way I am good with, he had his fair shot and came up short, like Jack Morris or Bert Blyleven he is very good, borderline HOF'er...

Obvious thanks to Causey for doing this.
My two cents:
- I agree we need to focus on catching up as our primary goal.
- Once caught up, maybe if a guy gets 2 votes he is nominated again the following year. This works in 2 other leagues I'm in. The voting numbers actually (surprisingly) do change. Not all the time but enough to make it worthwhile. One other factor I'd add to Causeys list is (3)Strength of class changes from year to year. Once a guy has been on the ballot 5 years he is no longer eligible (Obviously it can be any number of years. 5 is just what my other leagues use. I might suggest 3).
- To give guys like Dresser a second shot, once we are caught up, owners can nominate their players to be added to the voting for whatever year we are in at that point.
- I also have no problem keeping it as is. I'm not complaining in the least. I've offered zero help compiling this HoF stuff so I'm not going to be the 'that' guy.

yeah, honestly, after a week or two, we're going to forget anyways. It was more a question than a request, but hell, if its something thats not too difficult, and we had more voter turnout, it would be worth exploring.
