New Rule on Accidentally Dropped Players

September 12, 2013 at 08:25PM View BBCode

All,

To avoid future confusion and fiascoes, a new rule is being instituted for the TDFL.

1. Owners will have exactly 2 days (actual days, not league days/weeks) to post on the message board if players were auto-waived/or dropped from their team accidentally. Owners will be required to post the actual first and last names of the players they wish to go back on their team.

I understand that emergencies come up and people go on vacation, but the truth is, the TDFL still moves on while all of this is happening.

2 Ways to let TDFL Owners know....

Just ideas to alert all owners:

1. Send a U2U to all owners. (This is prob the best way)

2. Post a message on the standings board.

I prefer to do both.

Auto-waivers are required by the game when a roster is out of compliance. Keeping your roster in compliance is part of the game. Manual waivers have a five-minute "undo" period. So there should never be something like an accidental waiver.

If owners want to be nice and return auto-waived players, that is up to them, but to avoid issues like the recent ones, there is not going to be a league rule to compel players to give up a waiver wire player that they have rightfully claimed. If you are going to be away and have a trade pending that may take you over the limits, please consider making room ahead of time. I am going to create a page to allow you to select who gets demoted after a waiver claim or trade that takes you over the limit but until then please look ahead when managing your roster.

This will make sure that all owners are treated equally and no one will have to judge intent or whether something was truly an accident or not.

I try to get rosters down to compliance by 3rd week of pre-season anyway. That way there is no problem. Needless to say... I like the rule. And I agree on name changing rookies only. But you should have until 4th week of season to make a change.
Just an FYI..... my stadium has a no beer limit policy. Of course we only dispense in dixie cups lol. :D
