Pennant Races/Playoffs 2010

March 08, 2014 at 12:22AM View BBCode

As usual here in the VPL, superb pennant races in both leagues to finish the season, still plenty to be decided.

Over here in the AL, NY and Detroit are all square with nine games left, and they face each other to end the season. These two squads have won the last five world series, I am thinking it will likely come down to at least game 162.

Over there in the wild wild NL, four teams are within three games, and it looks like they all have at least one series left against a fellow contender, it should be alot of fun, good luck to all the teams!!!

The AL wildcard race will be fun to watch. Will the Smash finally miss the playoffs and fail to defend their title? Will they get in by the skin of their teeth and then run the table? Or will NY dust them off? Can't wait to see their end-of-season series. Then again, the Nattybohs have done everything possible to make sure that the AL Pennant, and World Series, run through Baltimore.

The NL race is crazy. For the past week, it's been so fun to come home from work and catch up on the games. It's been a long time in this league since there were four teams so closely bunched with 9 games left. In fact, I'm not sure it's ever happened...but it's awesome!

Some old tired legs here in Motor City.....Rocky IX old. Rumors of PEDs rampant for the stretch run.

causey nailed it; tuning in each day to watch the last three games has been exhilarating! Seven games to go and it's anybody's ballgame!

Nothing wrong with an extra playoff game, right?

Wow, what an ending. The Minions had to make a strong showing against both my LA team and Stl in order to make the playoffs, and they did it. Congrats to all the the playoff teams!

Man alive! Quite the finish in the NL! Hats off to the Minions for a remarkable sprint to the wire. Good luck to everybody in the playoffs!

Congrats to the Minions for the strong finish. The Sand Diego pitching smothered the St. Louis bats in the final series.

Looks like the league championships are both rematches from last year, but with home field reversed.

Good luck to the playoff teams!

Congrats to MortonsFork and the Stars for outlasting everyone over there in the NL, and also congrats to Minions and the Minions for that historic charge, man that team is on a roll, that should be a very competitive NLCS. Also great seasons in LA and St. Louis, great job by piper108 and causey, a tough way to finish the season, unfortunately somebody had to finish out of it.

Over here in the AL, congrats to the veteran Smash for outlasting the Black Sox, heck of a season for NY, great job Dake, you guys will be back. Hopefully the Bohs will be able to overcome their recent struggles against Detroit, this will be our 5th LCS meeting over the last 7 seasons, although the Bohs were only able to take the first meeting. Good luck Bayside, hopefully the Bohs can keep up with the boys from the Motor City...

Two great, hard-fought LCS's. Congratulations to the 'Bohs and Minions! Balmer's domination and San Diego's finishing power: which will prevail?

Two outstanding championship series. Here's hoping for a similarly exciting World Series...and for Minions' Minions to break the AL's 9-year stranglehold on the title. (No offense, Bayside).

Not sure how the Boh's pulled it out, I thought the Smash had it again, man you have a tough team Bayside, always have to be on the top of my game to compete against you.

Great series over there in the NL as well, great one Minions, and equally as tough Morty, with the way the season finished out, I really did not expect much different than what happened.

Good luck Minions, it should be a close and competitive series, not sure how the Bohs are going to solve your pitching, but we will give it a shot.

And Causey, not sure if Bayside is offended, but the Bohs are, thanks for some quality bulletin board material!!!

What a great ALCS!! Well....game 3 was hard to watch (One of those games where both managers are rooting for outs so everyone can just go home) but outside of that a great watch. Congrats to Beanballs - well deserved! Hopefully you can stretch the AL dominance to 10!!

I haven't watched the NLCS yet (Crazy day and I just got a chance to sit down and view so I wanted to post my congrats asap) but sounds like it was a great one as well.

If declines aren't too punishing the Smash might be able to take one last run next season?

Beanballs...apologies for my mis-type.

I think I just have an auto-response on my messages set for "congrats to Bayside for winning the World Series" because it's happened so often.

Congrats Beanballs!

Great series by both teams. In fact, the whole postseason was outstanding.

Thanks guys, that was a tough Minions squad the Bohs beat, just like the stretch run and the LCS's, the World Series was a barnburner.

I know it was a heartbreaker for Minions, but your team will be back and better next year, the Bohs had to get one as we are getting very old very fast.

Good luck to all in the offseason and the draft...

Kudos to the N-Boh's! Just took a look at their roster and they're still going to be old in 2011, so I expect them to be right in the thick of it once again.

Don't want to fail to mention once again what a great run the Minions made.

This was an exciting season, hard-fought, with great playoff series, and I'm looking forward to more of the same. Good luck and let's get to it!
