Icewater in his veins...

BOTTOM OF THE 9TH AGAINST CINCY...
Oil Can Puzo is trying to pick up his 11th victory and 5th complete game... Here's the rundown...

"Solly Prim hits a home run. Larry Klein is pinch hitting for Heinz Archie. Larry Klein singles. Wayne Davanon singles. Kazuhiro Smith is pinch hitting for Frank Deal. Kazuhiro Smith grounds into a force play. Wayne Davanon out at second. Larry Klein advances to third on the play. Kazuhiro Smith steals second. Fred Walker pops out. Ski Blakely grounds out."

So, Puzo gives up a leadoff homer, then puts a couple of guys on... Cincy gets guys on 2nd and 3rd with 1 out- and Puzo reaches back and shuts the door on 'em.

Of course, if my manager wasn't passed out drunk in the clubhouse, he'd have had somebody up in the bullpen...

I LOVE THIS GAME!

Well at least you had a manager in the park. :)

In the same game, in fact the same inning, in fact the same at bat... my "manager" who has been fired and apparently rehired more than Billy Martin thought it was best to send an exhausted hitter in to pinch hit (How's he supposed to hit when he can't keep his eyes open?) and after realizing his pinch hitter was snoring decided it was a great idea to put the #2 starting pitcher out to strike out.

I think my manager even called the game a "Classic! Definately a winner all the way around!"

HAHA :)
