Is this normal? Large declines for 28-29 yr old qb

I just noticed my qb in beta had a -66 drop this off season. He's 29 right now. He had a -51 drop the previous season when he was 28. Maybe I hadn't paid enough attention before or maybe that's part of the variability built into the system, but those are a couple of really big hits for a position that should be in its prime at that age. I found a couple of other 29 yr old qbs in beta and I'm not seeing anything like this. Any ideas?

Still going strong at age 29;

it's part of the variability, but on the bad end obviously. don't get too caught up in the overall number though. your guy is only down 3 in PWR and is actually ahead overall in ACC and EXE in the last couple of years. if he declines in pass block, run block and run cover, who cares?

Yep, most of those attributes that took a majority of the hits don't factor in greatly for the qb position. It just struck me to see such a large decrease, even when factoring in variability. As long as it's variability and not a bug, I'm cool with it, just wanted to get another opinion. Thanks Dirt.

Yeah too add on what dirt says, QBs usually lose alot because you know QB only requires throwing some carrying execution and agility everything else will decline when they get older just look at my boy Herb Williams(who is a second round pick as well;) ) http://footballbeta.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=564072&displaytab=imps he declined alot this season as well but his throw power and accuracy barely took a hit

I checked the database; yes, his variability is set to decline 2 years earlier than normal, so when he is 29 he declines like a 31 year old.

it's a pain in the butt when it happens to your guys, but overall the variability is a great feature.
