These SIM games can be very frustrating however I'd guess ML teams suffer the same problems. I find it's not so much the overall ratings of players but what the individual skill ratings are. Being very new to this game I'm still learning the nuances but since taking over I've made a lot of changes and things are headed in the right direction so far. Yet one injury, one players performance starts to tank and I can easily start diving towards the basement. Just the nature of the beast.

I did the same thing with Philadelphia one season ago including making 15 trades and countless waiver moves.... and they have not paid off despite an almost complete roster make over and now having the best overall roster at this time...but we shall see what we shall see....

Haven't made any trades since I'm still figuring things out. Take a look at your lineup, rotation and bullpen. Sometimes just a couple of tweaks can make a major difference. Also, top rated players sometimes don't perform as expected so if they don't work for your team or in your park things will need to be changed. IMHO
