Big Game in college basketball

January 11, 2005 at 10:28PM View BBCode

My favorite college basketball team #8ranked Georgia tech plays @ #4 North Carolina. Its on Espn wednesday night at 7:00. They usually play each other twice a year but this year because of the expanded ACC, they only play once. It should be a good game you should watch it.

Hmm...potential Elite Eight/Final Four preview?

Should be entertaining to watch. This game could give either team legit reason to believe they can make a run in March.

Or not.. Here's to Rutgers taking it all!:cool2:

i will make a bold prediction:the winner of this game will win the national championship this year, i could certainly be wrong, and it could be the loser of this game because their both good, can't wait till march madness.

Haha... Go Rutgers. The Rutgers campus is about 10 minutes from my house so ofcourse I root for them but they are a perenial NIT team unfortunately.

I know they beat LSU and I think that they knocked of 3 top ten teams (including #1 LSU) but womens basketball sucks so nobody cares.

Here's my bold prediction of the year: Rutgers will make it into the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

:o

That's right folks. Rutgers makes it into the second round. What is my basis for this arguement?

Well, earlier this year, I went to the Wisconson at Rutgers game. Rutgers was down early, but game back strong in the second half, holding Wisconson without a field goal for the first 5 minutes. At this point, Wisconson had all their players healthy, and were a very dangerous team. We stayed in the game the whole way.

So, if Rutgers makes it in as a 7 or 8 seed, I feel pretty confident of Rutgers making it into the second round. Plus, we have some talented freshman and sophomores, so there's an excellent chance that we could become a Big East power some time soon. That is, if Syracuse and UConn don't destroy us at home this year. And if Louisville loses talent.

Georgia Tech-North Carolina should be a good game. That Kentucky-Kansas game was real good. Texas has a great future, three of their top players are freshman, their best player is a sophomore, and only one of their top 8 players is a senior. And they are already number 9, and their two losses were by a combined 3 points. I don't think they will win it all this year, but next year they should be title contenders.

I predict Texas will go on to the final four. They are that good.

Wow. Definately a bold statement. I really don't know enough about Texas to make any kind of assertion about them. How have they done against ranked teams? Have they started conference play yet?

With such a young team, with that talent, they might get a title. Who knows?

They lost by 1 against Wake Forest at Wake Forest, and lost by 2 at the Maui Invitational against Iowa. Their only conference game was against Baylor, they won by 18 or something. Their biggest wins so far were UNLV, Memphis, Tennessee, and Seton Hall.

I like Wake a lot. Chris Paul is amazing and they have some good big men to compliment the guard play. I hope Duke wins it all this year though (or Rutgers but its pretty certain that they won't...).

I went to the Providence/Villanova game last night. One of the worst played college games I have seen in a while. Providence had well over 30 turnovers with 20 in the first half alone

What do you think about UConn losing recently?

How is Uconn doing these days? I havent been keeping track of them but I doubt they are as good after losing Gordon and Okafor.

I don't know about UConn, but Okafor and the Charlotte - heck - I cant remember their name now - gave Lebron and the Cavaliers and tough game last night only to lose in OT.:)
