Does the NFL need to change there overtime system to something like the NCAA where each team has afair chance to score?January 11, 2005 at 06:01PM View BBCode
the way the NFL's OT system works i think is just outrageous its so bad compared to the NCAAJanuary 12, 2005 at 04:55PM View BBCode
sudden death, first to score wins, that's the most fair. NCAA's is stupid.January 12, 2005 at 04:59PM View BBCode
No way, the NCAA is the MOST fair. The NFL is the least fair with a coin toss determing who has the best chance to win.January 12, 2005 at 10:29PM View BBCode
I posted a thread like this a while ago in the Off Topic. I hate the sudden death rules in overtime. Whoever wins the toss has a huge advantage. I also would like to see alittle more strategy than "just get close enough and run the kicker out there." Obviously if you know that the other team is going to get another possession you would take the TD over the FG. Atleast give each team one possession that way they both have a chance to score. If the score is still tied after that just keep playing until someone scores again. The best would be to play a full quarter and at the end of that quarter whoever is in the lead wins.January 13, 2005 at 06:45AM View formatted

or make it so FG's are not allowed in OT. How do you think Vegas would like that rule?January 13, 2005 at 04:20PM View BBCode

Full quarter is the best option offered out so far. Removing kicking is a non-football option. HOWEVER, Marty Schottenheimer just reminded us all of the folly of giving up on moving the ball once you are in field goal range in OT. Now we know why he's one of the winningest coaches to never win a title. He's always been a dunce on the kicking game.Pages: 1
