Big 12 Showdown

January 18, 2005 at 12:46AM View BBCode

Perhaps pre-empting TNT hoops, #11 Texas hosts #5 Oklahoma State in men's hoops. I'd just like to know, from the Texans among us especially, if the 'Horns can hook 'em?

I ususally wait until closer to the confrence tournaments to follow college basketball except the Big East but I usually root for Texas since they have former PC coach Rick Barnes

come on Ok State, got em in a parlay.

I tend to wait a bit, too. Conference play is almost perfectly timed, though--it picks up right after the college bowls, which is when I start to follow college hoops.

Ive been to 3 games so far this year and my team has stunk up the joint each time.

Providence lost to Boston College, Villanova and Syracuse and is now 0-4 in Big East play despite have preseason all-american Ryan Gomes. They have some good young talent in the works but have also suffered a few injuries.

Texas is better than Ok State. The horns will definately be hooking em.

ps: the Aggies wont be gigging anyone this year, like usual :D

Didn't Bryant "Big Country" reeves go to OK. State?

I can't root for them just because of that simple fact.

And I can't root for either team because I despise the Big 12. I want to see a drawn-out, bloody contest that one team will barely survive.

Sounds fun.

I agree, the Big East was that way back in they heyday of Georgetown with Mourning and Mutombo. Its' a terible style of basketball, I find the best games for watchability tend to be in the ACC and SEC

Yeah, ACC games are the best. Tar Heels are always fun to watch, and I love to hate the Cameron Crazies.

GO ACC, the best conference in college basketball, the fans are crazy, the players are the best and the excitement is always there.

I fell in love with Duke at that moment. I was like 10 years old and I was sitting on the floor at the foot of my parents bed and I went nuts when he hit that shot.

To this day I root for Duke unless they play UT Austin.

UT is going to lose. I want them to win, badly, but they will lose. Aldridge, probably their third best player, is out. Buckman and Klotz will have to come up huge along with Gibson and Tucker for Texas to hold on to the slim lead they have right now. About the hating conferences thing, I hate the SEC.

Yea, now that post counts are all but gone. And I'm glad the 'Horns are making me look dumb, hopefully they keep it up.

I quit on the game when the Cowboys started fouling out halfway through the second half. Glad I tuned in to the NBA.

NBA.? Who watches that shyt. I used to be a big fan of the NBA, watching nearly every game that was on TV. Not anymore, I can't even remember the last time I watched a game.

I'm one of the 12 remaining NBA fans in this country.

Damn, OKSt sucks. The NBA sucks. Screw basketball in general. Where's the NHL?
