Greatest Return Man

January 20, 2005 at 04:20PM View BBCode

Who was the best kick/punt returner in league history?

My vote for best of all-time would go to either Mel Gray or Gale Sayers.

The most exciting returner I've ever seen was probably Billy "White Shoes" Johnson.

Rick Upchurch and Desmond Howard should probably get a mention too.

The Browns had a guy called the ice cube - Gerald Mcneil I think. he was decent but certainly not up there with the ones you mentioned.

That's right, a former Brown that was completely wiped from my memory, Metcalf was a great one.

Eric's daddy was pretty good too.

Eddie Payton (Walter's Brother) was a good return man too.

Brian Mitchell is a good one as well.

Also, Dante Hall had one of the best if not the best year for kick/punt returns last season for the Chiefs.

I liked that guy from Dallas like 8 years ago, I think his name was Kevin something, Williams maybe?

Some early guys who would be interesting to see in today's game:

Leslie "Speedy" Duncan of San Diego in the 1960's,
and Travis Williams of Green Bay, also from the 1960's.
