What's the record for HR by a team in one season?
The Pittsburgh Regoarrarr are on pace for about 270 - 181 in 117 games.
Team G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS E OBP SLG AVG
Pittsburgh Regoarrarr 117 4197 588 1174 188 25 181 552 358 693 51 28 84 .340 .466 .280

I don't know the real MLB record or even the SimDynasty record, but through 154 games, the NY Highlanders of the Willie Mays league have hit 311 HR. Of course, when your pitching sucks, 311 HR means nothing more than 2nd place.

That's gotta be a record I would think, 311 Homers! I think the MLB record is around 260 or something.

Team HR record is 264.
Seattle Mariners in 1997 264
Baltimore Orioles in 1996 257
Houston Astros in 2000 249
Texas Rangers in 2001 246
Seattle Mariners in 1996 245
The only team pre 1990 in the top 10 is the New York Yankees in 1961 with 240 taking 9th.
Way to go Highlanders! Is NYs park only 100 ft down the lines or something? :)

While I'm happy to be setting records, I think this is a bit of a problem. Even though I emphasized power in the draft, to shatter a record by such a large margin probably means HR are being inflated too much. By the way, in game 155 we smacked four more dingers -- putting us on a pace for 329 for the year.
Since we've got a lot of leagues running this year, it would be a great sanity check to look at the team totals for all leagues. With such a large sample size we could get a good idea if my team's power is just an anomaly or if there is an issue with HRs. We could look for a lot of things this way: strikeouts, walks, triples, errors, etc. Tyson, how much work would it be to run a query on the league databases to get the overall totals for each category?

Here are the top HR hitting teams through 155 games in the Sparky Anderson league.
New York Swing - 338
Chicago Rudesox - 305
Detroit Dashounds - 255
Brooklyn Dodger Sox - 224
The rest are under 200. An interesting side-note is that the two division leaders are at the bottom of the list with some ghost teams. The NL leaders have 71 total homers.
All of this power is surely due to the rampant use of steroids. :)
