Wahoo! Duncan turned it on in the second half. Plus, the Horns go for the CWS this weekend. This could be a great week!!!!June 24, 2005 at 05:12AM View BBCode

As much as I hate the Spurs im glad they won it rather than DetroitJune 24, 2005 at 12:40PM View BBCode
The Spurs won? I Myself, like most of America, didn't really care, but congrats all the same!June 24, 2005 at 12:45PM View BBCode
True, but I've never really cared much for basketball, It's a somewhat flawed spectator sport that got too popular because of Jordan, it seems like something more deserving of fringe success to me.June 24, 2005 at 02:37PM View BBCode
I would if they would sacrifice their egos and play a little more like college teams. So, no, not really.June 24, 2005 at 02:45PM View BBCode
It is pretty much like watching playground basketball.June 24, 2005 at 03:04PM View BBCode
I lost track of the NBA. I thought San Antonio and Detroit were playing preseason games. Doesn't the pre-season start next week? I don't know.June 24, 2005 at 03:36PM View BBCode

what a crappy finals mvp. duncan did not deserve that award. the nba just threw up its hands and said, screw it, we'll just give it to their regular-season mvp.

And this is why I post very little in the general forums anymore. If you aren't with the masses then you and/or your comments get bashed.June 24, 2005 at 07:27PM View BBCode
And of course I could have predicted something from Furious after my last comment.June 24, 2005 at 07:32PM View BBCode
Besides which, I'm on your side. I watched the game, I like the NBA, I rooted for the Spurs, and I felt Duncan was the most deserving candidate for MVP. Everyone knows that the two sweetest words in the English language are De and Fault.June 24, 2005 at 08:25PM View BBCode
Ginobili was my favorite, and had a good game 7. But without Duncan being as assertive as he was, it would have been tougher for Ginobili to be as effective as he was.June 24, 2005 at 11:59PM View BBCode
Swerve, you make the mistake that every post on a thread you start is directed towards you, and that is simply not the case.June 26, 2005 at 02:20PM View BBCode
Basketball rocks. If the Mavs were in the finals ( ha! ) than I would have been glued to the tube this year.June 26, 2005 at 04:09PM View BBCode
Duncan very nearly cost the Spurs Game 5. Without Robert Horry swooping in to make 85 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and in overtime, there is no Game 7 --- the Spurs lose in six. I think a Finals MVP can in rare occasions be decided based on a single outstanding performance in a pivotal game. In this series, Horry qualifies.June 26, 2005 at 04:11PM View BBCode

The playoffs last 7 months and the regular season means nothing. So I don't give a rip about the NBA. I don't think I know a single person who has watched an entire game from start to finish this year. The NBA is only useful for the ESPN highliht dunk. But people buy the jersey's so the NBA makes mony. And everyone is happy.
Does anyone else think it is rediculous that a series can last 2 weeks? I mean why does basketball need to have 7 games to determine the better team?
