Third Base: A. Rodriguez, NYY
Shortstop: M. Tejada, BAL
Catcher: J. Varitek, BOS
Outfielder: V. Guerrero, LAA *

Outfielder: G. Sheffield, NYY *
DH: D. Dellucci, TEX **
Catcher: R. Hernandez, SD

Third Base: C. Jones, ATL *
Shortstop: C. Izturis, LAD *
Outfielder: B. Abreu, PHI
Outfielder: M. Cabrera, FLA
Outfielder: A. Dunn, CIN *
* - I'm not totally sure
** - I know he won't win (and probably doesn't deserve it), but I want him to get votes so he'll have a better chacne to be a backup.
*** - You must vote for this guy. This guy needs your help to beat out a far more undeserving player. (As for Derrek Lee, he will probably end up as the NL DH, though)

Derek Lee has to get in. i can't believe he isint. trust my my mouse will me clicking with the votes tonight. At third base right now scott rolen has it which is totally Bull crap because the cubs player rameriez has twice as many at bats, homeruns, hits, and his batting average is better. rameriez is the guy that should be in there.

Hernandez is on the DL right now. I really struggled last week when at a Twins game when trying to pick a NL Catcher that wasn't Mike Piazza. When I'm not sure who to pick, I usually try to pick guys that are deserving but might be underrated by most fans.
Here are the non-Indians I voted for:
3B: Melvin Mora
OF: Vlad
OF: Manny
NL
1B: Derek Lee
2B: Luis Castillo (don't know Kent's stats for this year)
SS: Uggh, Barmes is hurt so I'll vote for Vizquel
3B: Aramis
C: How about Barrett?
OF: Griffey - he's having a good year
OF: Giles
OF: Ugggh, nobody strikes me. How about Burrell
Not sure if my vote will count since I told you guys about it.

You said the same thing about Laynce 'Stevie' Nix, Rod 'Devo' Barajas and Richard 'Her Name Is Rio' Hidalgo.

Speaking of which, how's Kenny 'P.R. Maven' Rogers treating you?

Rogers? Last I checked he had the best ERA in the AL. (a few weeks ago)
Nix is still very young. Hidalgo has plenty of time. Barajas may be a lost cause.
So.. how is waaaaaaaaaaaaay overpaid Adrian Beltre treating you these days? :D:saint:

Seriously though, the guy went to the hospital? What a pussy. Rogers better have pushed him directly over a fire hydrant, bending his back into an upside-down U.

Hey All - please keep the discussion to Sports. I feel lately that Offtopicness is going on too much outside of OffTopic.

My all-star ballot
July 02, 2005 at 03:35PM View BBCode
AL:
C: Jason Varitek
1B: Mark Teixeira
2B: Brian Roberts
3B: Alex Rodriguez
SS: Miguel Tejada
OF: Vladimir Guerrero
OF: Ichiro Suzuki
OF: Scott Podsednik - leads the Majors in SB and is the tablesetter for the team with the best record in baseball. How can he not be an all-star? Manny hasn't had an all-star caliber first half. He's been hitting better as of late, but still.
DH: David Ortiz
SP: Roy Halladay- having as good a year, if not better than his Cy Young year a couple seasons ago. You could also make a case for Jon Garland.
NL
C: Michael Barrett- better stats than Piazza
1B: Derrek Lee- triple crown threat
2B: Jeff Kent
3B: Aramis Ramirez- Rolen is hurt, BS that he has more votes than Aramis
SS: David Eckstein- better stats than Izturis
OF: Bobby Abreu- possible MVP of NL, that is if Lee falls off
OF: Andruw Jones- recent power surge has him leading majors in HR
OF: Carlos Lee- 22 HR and 72 RBIs, why is Beltran slated to start again?
DH: I guarantee that if Pujols wins the starting 1B job they'll move him to DH and have D. Lee play 1st. He's so much better defensively and deserves it more that Pujols.
SP: Jake Peavy- I know, D-Train has been phenomenal this year. He has faltered recently and Peavy is the best starter on a first place team. You could also make a case for Livan Hernandez.

AL:
C- Varitek
1B- Teixiera
2B- Roberts
3B- A Rod
SS- Tejada
OF - Vlad, Manny, Sheff
DH - Ortiz
SP - Halladay
NL:
C - ??
1B - Lee
2B - Kent
3B - Ensberg (more HR and RBI than Ramirez)
SS - Lopez
OF - Andruw, Cabrera, Abreu
DH - Pujols
SP - Clemens, you can't knock a 1.50 ERA, so what his team can't score enough for more than 6 wins.

I forgot about Ensberg, he deserves to start.
