in game 17, he worked 2/3 of an inning, and now he's ineligible for his next start. Since he's my only GOOD starter, this seems like a problem...
Personally, I would prefer if the code didn't allow that- I'd rather have my reliever stay in and get pummeled than have my #1 guy miss a start.
Would it be possible to designate, say the #4 and #5 starters as the guys who would be called on in that situation, instead of the ace?

What about the idea we had for a bit that guys who only pitch one inning or less don't have that outing counted against them when deciding when they could pitch again?

Maybe the computer should bring in a position player to pitch to save the bullpen?

I think it takes the starting pitcher with the most rest, but maybe it should take the guy with the most rest out of the 4 and 5 starters instead. That might work better, as you've said. The problem with leaving the RP in their is that if he gets REALLY tired, he will be unable to make an out, which will cause the score to get out of hand.Maybe the computer should bring in a position player to pitch to save the bullpen?

I like the idea of having it choose the #4 or #5 guy who is most rested, and if that's not possible (say, the #4 pitched yesterday and #5 got rocked today) then bringing in the position player not currently in the game who has the best arm... Might be fun, in a blowout, to see some scrub SS throw a couple innings...

Some of my position players have better pitching skills than some of my pitchers....

In a recent game of mine, one of my starters came into the game even though I still had 2 relievers rested and available. One of my relievers even came in later in the game. This is certainly a bug, since all relievers should be used before considering which starter to bring in. Here's the box score: http://www.simdynasty.com/beta/boxscore.jsp?boxscoreid=1452&cityid=9

Hoping this will fix rick's problem too, this should limit the number of times a starter is actually used in relief.

Ahh, its because of the pinch hitting for the closer in the inning before. I have a fix, I'll move it to the beta site and run a few bonus games this afternoon.Hoping this will fix rick's problem too, this should limit the number of times a starter is actually used in relief.
