Houston Atlanta Series

October 05, 2005 at 01:49PM View BBCode

This is gonna be a close one. They both had about the same record this year I think Houston had 89 wins and Atlanta had 90. I pick Houston in a very close 5 game series. I think Houston is just a better team with Roger Clemens Andy Pettite and Roy Oswalt. Atlanta won't give it to them but I think Houston will get this. By the way are there any fans of NL teams on this message board? It seems like all the sports talk is focused on the AL.

No one cares? Clemens vs. Smoltz should be interesting.

The series is tied at 1-1 now. Don't be so sure about Houston. If the Braves can hit Rocket they can hit anyone.

the braves always seem to choke in the playoffs, theyve won a billion division titles in a row, but only won one world series and have only been 2 times (i think). the astros are a good team and they are up 2 games to 1, but you cant count the braves out. i say the astros win game 4 and win the series, but it will be a very close game.

Come on, now---they lost to the Twins in 1991, the Blue Jays in 1992, beat the Indians in 1995, and lost to the Yankees in 1996 and 1999.

sorry, they have done better than i thought. top of 16th now and still going, the rocket just started pitching, so this could get really interesting. longest game previously was 1986 game between mets and astros, 16 innings. so odds are, this one will be the longest in playoff history. i still say the astros will win, maybe on a ensberg rbi (he is 0-6 so he is bound to break out of it) or a biggio hit.

BTW does anyone know (if the braves win) if they are playing game 5 tomorrow or tuesday?

I am pretty sure game 5 would be Tuesday, but I have not checked.

Okay, I checked and I was wrong. It will be on Monday.

This has been just an awesome game. It's not often anything preempts football for me on Sunday, but I have been glued since just before the Berkman grand slam.

Houston is basically putting everything into this game by pitching Clemens, so if Atlanta wins, you'd figure they have the advantage in game 5.

F-ing amazing.... That's the only way to describe that game. I saw it from the 10th on and I'm almost upset that I chose to watch the Jets game over it before. Just an awesome game.

Boy, what a game! The Astros are on to the NLCS. I'm guessing that is the longest game in playoff history correct me if I'm wrong. I originally thought that it might mean the Stros have decent hitting with the grand slam and solo shot but they did get shut out for 8 straight innings after that.
