Despite over 95% of fans picking Jacksonville to win in a nationwide poll, the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS overcame the odds and the DISRESPECT of the sports world to beat the Jaguars, showing the GRACE and FORTITUDE of a TRUE CHAMPION. It seems that the rest of the country has forgotten that the PATROITS are the DEFENDING WORLD CHAMPIONS. Perhaps one day America will embrace the EXCELLENCE of the Patriots, or their sister team the BOSTON RED SOX, but until that day the teams are content to TOIL in UNDERAPPRIECATED OBSCURITY.January 08, 2006 at 06:39AM View formatted

Patriots could win 10 superbowls, and barely seem happy. It's one of their coaches keys to success: Keep them hungry. Part of their hunger has always been to feed off the 'no respect'/ 'underdog' mentality. They like the us against them.January 09, 2006 at 07:03PM View BBCode
I think most of the press live by the "until they are eliminated, the Pats are still defending champs" motto.January 09, 2006 at 07:16PM View BBCode
sure, now you do. But when they were 4-4 you weren't saying that, nobody was. THAT'S what Brady was saying.January 09, 2006 at 07:25PM View BBCode
I don't know, I guess most maybe. But I don't see how anybody could count out the Pats back then. You knew they would win the division, and thus have to be dealt with in the playoffs. I really can't believe them winning the division and beating Jacksonville is a surprise, but I suppose to some it was. Not me.Pages: 1
