santana moss

November 19, 2003 at 02:57AM View BBCode

i know that most of u dont care about the jets and dont watch their games if u get them but i had to bring this up. santana moss is playing extremely well, the only thing that surprises me is that the jets just arent giving him the damn ball enuff. it seems like every play to moss ends up in a 60+ yard touch down. last week vs. indy they had one drive at the beginning of the 4th quarter where they started out at their own 10, then bam martin gains 28 yards on a carry, then 14, then pennington throws a play action pass to moss where he breaks it for a 60+yard td catch. the safety even had the angle on him but couldnt make the hit or force him out of bounds. two weeks ago vs. oakland he had 3 catches for something like 117 in the FIRST QUARTER, yet they only threw to him 3 more times the entire game. and i had high expectations for curtis conway bcuz i had seen wut he did in chicago and in san diego but he hasnt lived up to them. enuff with this throwing the ball to conway so he can drop it, the only really good game he had wuz when edwards moved moss up to the 2nd receiver slot and conway down to 3rd. with chrebet out for the season it only seems to me like they should get moss the ball even more. i think they should dump conway in the offseason and either sign or draft a decent third wideout, preferably a big possession receiver. but seriously in the immortal words of keyshawn johnson GIVE HIM THE DAMN BALL.

Wow, its not just me who thinks these kind of things. I usually find myself agreeing with these big name receivers that they should get the ball more, and do think that Santana Moss should get it more. Others on the list that I think should get the ball more are T.O., Andre Johnson, Keyshawn Johnson, and Boston from San Diego (can't remember first name).

david boston. and yea exactly even though keyshawn is gonna be inactive for the rest of the year so the bucs arent listening to that but really santana moss is the jets best receiver not curtis conway, not kevin swayne. i dont get why the go to him early and then completely forget about him. i mean the guy has blazing speed, good hands and good moves. he is a play maker so let him make plays.

Buccs made him inactive for the rest of this year cause him and Gruden don't get along, Keyshawn said he wanted to play for someone else next year, and the Buccs realized they probably won't make the playoffs. I think it is a good move, teaches him to be a selfish player who is not even a great player like Moss and Owens. With them passing them the ball actaully helps the team cause they are teh only good receivers on their team, but Keyshawn has other decent receivers and wants the ball way too much.

Santana Moss, playing well, should be the #1 receiver (Conway playing shitty and Chrebet is out). You don't want him to become too good though, the Jets don't have a good record when it comes to keep their really good receivers.

um, too bad the jets suck anyway

their qb is better than ramsey, and both their running backs are better than the redskins backs. i got a question happy, how come the yankees suck yet they were the best team in the al, and the jets suck when they arent the best? is it that everything that happy doesnt agree with automatically sucks? take rap music for example, happy says it sux yet he has never really listened to it. to me no music sucks although i may not like it.

football has a salery cap, answer to the second question

i think TRUNG CANDIDATE is better than Martin. and stupid Interceptiverdes is not better than Ramsey. we dont know how good he is, because he is getting thrown off rythem by all the hits. he even admits that he is having trouble keeping from throwing too fast becasue he expects to get hit.

why do i not listen to rapp? i like quarashi (rap group) i like Beastie boys, ive listened to rap, and it sucks. i like gorillaz, and they have rap in it. i like del the funky homosapian (he is in tony hawk 3 or 4, and in the new one he is called deltron3000) and i also like linkin park, and they have rap in it too. im sorry i dont like your BS crappy rap that can be made in seconds by people who can freestyle rap. i like having beats that change every once in a while in the song, i like cool sound effects, i dont like a song where some guy pulls out his thesaurus, and just BSs with some guy playing the same notes on the piano (off key) 1000 times. (refer to a song called "high voltage" on the reanimation linkin park CD to know what im talking about. this is what i hate in rap) not to mention all the other things ive said. ive listened to it, and it sucks

cool beats, please refer to outkast along with many others. linkin park is not rap sorry to tell u. beastie boys is. and it isnt that easy to rap and atleast rappers right their own songs, i cant speak for ur gorrillaz but i know pop stars like britney spears and jlo dont right their own songs. and the rap songs have meaning, well some do. listen to changes, keep ya head up, thugz mansion, and dear momma. just to name a few.

linkin park isnt rap, but it has rap in it. gorillaz of course "right" their own songs. the gorillaz are not pop. pop refers to "popular" and the most popular music right now is rap, so rap is pop. no one has even heard of the gorillaz, even though for the 2 years they were here they were the most imported group for those 2 years. um.. like i say, i listen to rap sometimes. ive heard all those rap songs, like "fitty" cent and Mand Ms. and i dont like them. sorry. outkast has some cool beats. beastie boys are the king of beats.

i wouldnt call the beastie boys the kings of beats. and rap is rap not pop. and could we stay on topic for once. i get so pissed off when the jets just stop throwing to moss. he is a play maker. he can break a sixty yard td on a deep fly route or on a wide receiver screen. if any new york receiver has the right to say "give me the damn ball," it is moss, especially now with chrebet out. but i hope that moss doesnt do something like keyshawn would but i hope herm edwards and the offensive coordinator realize that these mid range passes to conway dont work and that if ur gonna throw the ball throw it to the guy that can A) catch and B) make big plays, and gain yards after the catch. this year moss has 47 catches for 793 yards 9TDs and a 17.7 yards per catch average. he still has an outside shot at gaining 1000+ yards this year but only if they start throwing to him more.

no i said why does it seem that everything happy doesnt agree with automatically "sucks." and i gave rap as an example u r the one that started ranting about beastie boys linkin park and gorrillaz.

you see suck is used to say "i dont like" it is a term used in regular american dialect. it is an opinion word, and when i say it "sucks" it means "it isnt good" which I hoped i didnt have to point out is my opinion, but apparantly i do need to point this out since you cant grasp this. also i dont think rap sucks, i think most rapPERS suck.

Moss is the best on the Jets..that's not saying much. Well, there is also Pennington.

hey dont forget curtis martin, wut is it 9 straight 1000+ rushing seasons. only guys like barry sanders, erick dickerson and walter payton have put up those numbers. and happy read the way u posted that u thought the jets sucked. "umm. too bad the jets suck anyway." u r using it to say that something is common knowledge. u say that about the yankees too. good thing most people dont think like u, if they did humans wouldnt be the dominant species on earth.

curtis martin is past him prime, it is unlikely he will rush for 1000 yards again. Pennington is their best player.

martin has 746 yards on 178 carries for an average of 4.2 ypc. with 6 games to go he could definetly break 1000 and he did it last year with two bad ankles for half the season. curtis martin has been a great back over his career and has never gotten the credit he deserves, he has put up numbers that only guys like walter payton, and barry sanders can match. even emmit smith hasnt had 9 consecutive rushing seasons. and maybe its cuz u dont see the jets every week but they are not nearly as bad as their record. they need to re vamp their linebacking core, only cowart deserves to be considered to stay. lewis and jones are too old and slow now. donnie abraham is a good corner and beasley is pretty good too. abraham has been out for most of the season and mickens has had the majority of the starts but he missed about two games also where guys like ray green started. they also need two new safeties, garnes is just to slow and mcgraw is just not good enough to start. on offense they r fine, they need to throw the ball to moss more, cut conway in the offseason and sign a good 3rd receiver, preferably a big possesion type receiver. their d-line is great, ferguson the DT is a very good tackle, robertson has the potential to become the next warren sapp, mcglockton although a shell of his former self is a good guy to rotate in when the other two need a rest and has been playing pretty well, and LOOK AT SHAUN ELLIS, if u dont know he is second in the league with 10.5 sacks, john abraham has been in and out of the lineup due to injuries and his dui but we all know wut he can do. i also think that the coaching staff needs to be revamped, paul hackett is an idiot, cottrell isnt good in this system bcuz his system is a 3-4 and edwards wants him to run a cover 2 which doesnt work due to lack of safety speed and line backer speed. edwards is a great motivator we all know "HELLO, u play to WIN the game." but i dont think that he comes up with good gameplans, he would be a good defensive coordinator or db coach but not head coach. KEEP MIKE WESTOFF he is prolly the best special teams coach which the giants are a great example of how important special teams is. if they do all those things they will be a very good football team.

IF he makes 1000, it will not be because of good runnning. the REDSKINS are averaging over 4 yards a carry, and their HBs are TRUNG CANDIDATE and LADELL BETTS, and not only that, but they played a game where trung and ladell were injured, and CHAD MORTAN had to be the HB, and he injured himself too. that left us with our 2 fullbacks as our only RBs, Rock Cartwright, and some other guy who totally sucks, and is like 5th string, but the redskins are STILL about even with martin, who is supposed to be good. im not saying he wasnt good, im saying he is good. saying sucks like that means, it is my opinion, and most peoples opinion.

no see if u havent figured it out yet u and ME are NOT the majority here and most of these people here are some what sensible. i dont see how u can say a back that has put up barry sanders and walter payton typ numbers can be called average.

and i looked it up, moss is second in receiveing yards in the AFC and first in the AFC in TD catches, all this despite only 47 catches. im telling u give him the ball, he is as good if not better than coles it just took him until his 3rd year to fully develop like coles.

Santana Moss becoming good means he gonna be gone within a few years. He has a good QB (at least now, when he has been playing good), and is the only decent receiver on the team, so his yard totals get inflated. Still good player though.

Martin is past his prime, he was always a pretty good RB, but never a great one, he never led the league in rushing (was 2nd twice though), and was only over 1500 yards once. Managing to miss only 4 games in his career is a big achievement though especially for a RB.
skierdude44

November 22, 2003 at 12:43AM View BBCode

how r his yards totals inflated? i mean he breaks these 60 yard TDs based on skill and speed. he has gotten into the endzone even when the d had the angle on him. i wuz very surprised to see that Chad Johnson of the BUNGLES is leading the AFC in receiving yards. and dont ask about the sudden burst of grammar, i dont know wut happened.

if you are the only good receiver on your team, you will get the ball thrown to you more, the defense will also try to cover you better, but you will still get some single coverages and get open, so you get more yards. Pennington doesn't have any other reliable receivers.

ME, you need to talk to Dick Jauron and my Bears, man.
They got a wealth of good talent on their receiver corp and all they do is throw it 5 or 6 yards per, ugh:puzzled:
