Nice!! Screw the Yankees. I'm curious to see how George reacts to this.

A little birdie told me A-Rod might be on his way to Boston too. Read it in Newsweek.

I hear if Boston can unload that loser Manny Ramirez than they would go after A-Rod.

I'm just glad my Angels are not in their division.

Schilling returns to the team that traded him with Brady Anderson for Mike Boddicker.

Alex Rodriguez won't be playing for the Red Sox though, the Rangers won't accept a Ramirez for A-Rod trade that Boston offered and A-Rod makes too much to be traded for Garciaparra.

Yankees are gonna be spending like mad hell to get everyone they can to make sure Boston does not win. Boston will need to have repeat performances from Mueller, Ortiz, Millar, Nixon, and Varitek, and that is unlikely, though their offense should remain pretty good. Ortiz I believe will get better, Millar will be about the same, and Nixon/Varitek/Mueller will still be productive players but their production will decline from 2003, when they all had career years.

I still think the Yankees will win the division. Red Sox just about locked up the wildcard though.

I'm no Yankee hater, or at least no more than any other sane human being.;)
But I got a feeling that the Yankees are going to have to fight for their lives this year. With all the players getting on in age, I think that it'll be Boston, Toronto, then New York in third place next season. But you never know...:puzzled:

that'll be a good division next year. if toronto can pick up a reliever or two and another good starter, they very well could end up in second. the yanks are gonna need to sign some guys if they want to win. astros and pettitte are 'close' to a deal supposedly

i seriously doubt that pettitte will wind up anywhere except back in the bronx but u never know. as far as the schilling deal, well it could turn out to be a major deal or a bust for the sox. and i cant believe how much the d'backs ripped themselves off. i know that they r trying to cut payroll but they need to actually try and get someone that could be moderately productive down the line, and i doubt that casey fossum or brandon lyon will be anywhere near that.

Kick ass! Go Red Sox!

Just glad I am not currently in the hunt for Red Sox season tickets... the phrase 'through the roof' comes to mind...

If they did manage to snare A-Rod, and maybe move him to 3rd or Nomar to 2nd, that's a hell of a team.

And it sure as heck would attract the attention of any future Giambi's who might want to leave their small market teams to win a Series.

i heard that they wanna deal nomar for arod so that prolly wouldnt happen.

Any Red Sox GM who deals Nomar away ought to factor new stadium seating into the deal, because the Sox fans will rip the ballpark up if Garciaparra goes anywhere. A-rod or not.

My Yankees are going to need Bartolo Colon, Andy Pettite, and Gary Sheffeild to keep up in the East.

However, the phrase "bottomless pockets" has never sounded so good!

Who needs a minor league system when you have bottomless pockets? I guess the Yankees will test this theory........................................................................................................dam those Yankees:o

hell yea:spin:. i also heard that they yanks r goin after japan's all time saves leader so there is still hope. and maybe i am just being optimistic here but boston does need repeat performance from a lot of guys that put up career years last year and i am not sure that they all can do it. nixon prolly could and ortiz is for real i think but i dont think that guys like bill mueller r gonna have huge years again. he will still be solid but i dont think he will reach last seasons numbers.
