it occured to me while i was just looking over the results of our last draft that there is some secret out there that i dont think the majority of this league has discovered. i understand that this past draft was weak, but there was one case that really shocked me where a c or c- sp went in the first round to one of our more astute members. i clearly do not have the answer as in my first amateaur draft i got a c rated rf who though young with good power and speed did not seem to me to be first round material. than this year i had the no brainer pick of the b+ sp in the first round my second round was wasted on a 21 yr old c rated sp. this year i increased the importance of control for my draft, and i still got d and c type guys. to make it more interesting i got bailor in the third round who is 22 and b- cf. which is the only position besides sp which i had a setting of greater than 10 which was 11 making rp 8.
i look over the posts in the rest of simdynasty and see alot of questions regarding draft positon, and i know that it is confusing science to say the least, but maybe we could share insights, and opinions to help one another avoid the sort of catastrophe the 1952 draft was for some of us.

Nate,
As many of your picks I have had over these seasons:lol: you for sure know what my secret is for drafts. You have my settings.
The only thing I can share is that some guys might be worrying too much about youth... The idea is that there are not usually any players over 26 in the Amatuer draft, so why make youth so big a factor in your settings, what might happen is you get a 17 or 18 yr old SP with B- end/ C+ Vel/ C control, While the next guy gets the 21 yr old A- end/C- Vel/B+ control guy. Which do you want??? Same goes for position players. The majority of the players in the amatuer draft are between 18-22 yrs old. So why let youth outweigh a much better rated player.
This is only my opinion.......
