Detroits Suffers Setback

With the Injury of Frederick Nuzman Detriot's hopes to win a playoff spot this year took a serious set back. Nuzman is out for the remainder of the season. Nuzman 33 had a 14-8 record with an ERA of 4.06. His pitching will be sorly missed.
Freddie Heise who has 38 saves this season a 4-3 record and a 4.26 ERA will move from the closer spot to the #4 rotation Spot.
John Burks 36 9-0 with a 2.37 ERA will return to his role as closer where he won the Cy Young in 1951 and the Fireman of the Year in 1951 and 1954.
The Wheels also brought up Royce Akins from the Minor League to pitch for the remainder of 1955. Akins is very greatful to have a shot at the big leagues.
Ever hopeful Detroit fans still are looking forward to the playoffs in 1955.

The Woes continue Short Stop James Howlett is also out for the season. Howlett hit .314 with 23 home runs and 96 RBI this year. Back up 3b/SS Bill Kellett will take over for the remainder of the season.
