...or something like that.November 30, 2007 at 10:32PM View BBCode
I always manage to miss the Man City games on FSC. I guess I'll watch that Milan/Juve game.... ESPN has made a weird choice for Tuesday with Milan/Celtic, usually they only show English teams in Europe.November 30, 2007 at 10:49PM View BBCode
I think that is one of only two Champions League games this week, so that is why they are showing it. The other one is Shakhtar-Benfica, which is at that time because games in the same group have to be simultaneous in order to prevent any sort of colussion. They got moved up because Milan has to take part in the Club World Cup in Japan starting the week after that.December 01, 2007 at 05:41AM View BBCode
Well, I guess my question about Kaka, Ronaldo and Messi [url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/7121175.stm]will be answered shortly.[/url] (If you trust that award, that is.)December 01, 2007 at 08:33PM View BBCode

The Juve/Milan match was one of those quite exciting 0-0 draws.December 01, 2007 at 10:05PM View BBCode

In Brazil, Corinthians got relegated after a 1-1 tie with Gremio and a 2-1 win by Goias over Inter sealed their fate. There will be cries of collusion, as Goias got 3(!) chances to take the penalty that put them ahead. The first two were saved, but the referee claimed that someone had gone into the box early both times. Corinthians are the second best supported club in Brazil, supposedly with 30 million supporters, so for them to go down is pretty amazing. Just a couple years ago they had the likes of Tevez and Mascherano playing for them, and had won the league. But, thus is the crazy-ass world of South American soccer.December 03, 2007 at 05:35AM View BBCode
Tevez and Mascherano played in Brazil? That seems wierd. I know next to nothing about the South American leagues, but is the Argentine league really that bad that two of their guys would go to Brazil instead?December 03, 2007 at 06:00AM View BBCode

If I knew anything ... I'd add something. But I don't, so, goooooaaaaLLLLL! heheDecember 03, 2007 at 06:05PM View BBCode
its funny to me how mascherano has flopped comparatively to tevez. I thought they would both equally do well. I'm glad they both got away from westDecember 03, 2007 at 07:02PM View BBCode
[url=http://youbeenblinded.com/englands-ashley-young-is-a-webcam-wanker/]Yup, Villa is awesome.[/url]December 03, 2007 at 08:38PM View BBCode
Hah...one of Reading's strikers, Leroy Lita, got a decent amount of press a little bit ago when a sex tape surfaced. Unfortunately, it was the most noteworthy thing he's done this season. He's been pretty shit.December 03, 2007 at 09:11PM View BBCode
Mascherano's not really a flop compared to Tevez, they are just different types of players. I think Mascherano's doing an admirable job playing Gattuso for Liverpool, and I hate that team.December 03, 2007 at 10:17PM View BBCode
yah, i hate liverpool too. the 05 champions league was the first one i got to watch, and i was/am a big Milan fan. I dont know how sheva missed that volley in the 2nd extra time, but i still get sick when i think about it :rolleyes:December 05, 2007 at 04:15PM View BBCode
Count me in as your fifth. I'm a big Colombia fan, so I follow most of the SA leagues as well as any of the European clubs that have Colombians on them. There seems to be a few all over the world, but France seems to be the favored league for developing young Colombian talent. We have Guarin (St. Etienne), Pino (Monaco), Sanchez (Valenciennes), Renteria (on loan at Strasbourg from FC Porto), and Perea (Bordeaux) currently playing in Ligue 1.December 05, 2007 at 04:55PM View BBCode
Seņor Juan Pablo spent some time in the premier league, LOL. Man, he tore up MLS didnt he? What do you think about him? He wasn't too shabby at Aston Villa...December 05, 2007 at 05:42PM View BBCode
To be honest, JPA was never the same after the knee injury and I don't think Villa ever surrounded him with any players to tap into his potential. He got a raw deal because of the record transfer they paid River to get him. I guess they expected a Henry type of player for the money they paid, but JPA could never live up to that sort of hype. Not many strikers could though. At river he played with Saviola and Aimar upfront. Villa never had anyone who compared to that duo during his tenure and both he and the team suffered because of the lack of creativity. Other then that 1 great year he had, I can't really make an argument for him and agreed with O'Neil's assessment that it was time for him to go. I will go as far as to say that I would cringe at the thought of another young Colombian going to play in the EPL. Not because it is a bad league, but because I don't think the EPL is the right league to develop a young talented South American. The language barrier and culture shock a player goes through is immense and the pressure to win in the EPL doesn't suit it to be the right league IMO. The culture shock is less in La Primera, Seria A, and Ligue 1 where the smaller clubs are able to give lesser known S Americans a real shot at developing. When I say lesser known, I mean S. Americans other then Brazilians or Argentinians.December 06, 2007 at 01:49AM View BBCode
i agree with you. even tho he wasnt stellar, angel has definitely been one of the better south americans to play in the EPL. What you speak of, is why i hope ronaldinho never ends up in the EPL, for his sake. Cute (cheeky as a brit would call it) football doesnt work in the EPL, which is what a lot of those young brazilians et al. want to play. and the EPL is so rough, they get destroyed physically while theyre learning to play true football. It's why tevez is so good. he has decent touch, and finishing abilities, but his strengths are blazing speed and strength like an ox. But, he was at Cotinthians till he was 22 or 23.December 06, 2007 at 10:52AM View BBCode
[ learn to play real football in the EPL.]

if you consider England the only team in Europe that plays tough, physical football, than, yes, you'd be right. I dont think thats right tho. Italy plays VERY physical football, and they're the current WC champs. The names known in italy are Gattuso... Nesta... Maldini... all strong tacklers and excellent defenders. And really, none of the Italians can dance like Ronaldinho, Robinho, Joe Cole - oh wait, Joe Cole wishes he could play like that :lol:December 06, 2007 at 04:28PM View BBCode
I really really really really hope that Sergio Aguero ends up with AC Milan somehow. Do you know how amazing the combination of Alexandre Pato + Sergio Aguero would be for the next, oh, 10 years?December 06, 2007 at 10:22PM View BBCode
