i think i figured out how the ads work.

the ads at teh top of the screen. they change. i think there is something that looks for words on the page you are looking at and puts up ads to go with them. for example in the "poland" topic, the ads were for hotels in warsaw and trips to poland. i have not seen those ads anywhere else. there are a lot of ads for [insert team] tickets/merchandise, for the team that the post is about. in the expos new location thread i say an ad for "expos jerseys"

its just the ads at the top of the screen that follow this. ive gotten those scandily-clad girl ads too, those are from something else. i think that one has 10 or so ads and randomly chooses one of them to put up.

when you go to make new posts you will sometimes get ads for smileys and font types.

then how come i got ads for redsox products galore and the negro league shop when i checked this. besides that though i think u r rite. but yea u pay too much attention.

Yeah, the ads are content sensitive. So whatever is on the page will influence what shows up with the ad.

For example, if you find the post that talks about someone having a team named after characters from Star Trek, the ads are for Star Trek DVDs.

I thought that maybe what was being said had something to do with ads when I said Cuba should have a team after Castro and an ad came up for Cuban baseball, (very cool site it was btw).

I noticed this awhile ago. A consistent ad on the Dale Murphy League message board is for Dale Murphy autographs. Let's try this...

kansas city monarchs and negro league stuff in this thread comes from my signature with my team the KC monarchs (though the players on that taem are real monarchs, like Gustav II Adolf, Peter I "the great", etc.)
