yes, its REDSKINS now not DEADSKINS anymore. also get gregg williams as defensive coach (he is a good defensive coach but bad head coach, and spells his first name a dumb way), he was the best defensive coach available.

now see if i made a thread like this about one of my teams u would say something like o well they still suck or who cares about them. so ill say this to u, they still suck. just cuz they have gibbs doesnt make them not the deadskins anymore they still havent won anything and have the same problems as before.

when parcells became a coach everyone talks about it, well gibbs is the best coach the redskins ever had by far. Kornheiser, Wilburn AND Boswell all predict AT LEAST a 10-6 season next year, so screw you, you are wrong.

maybe not 10-6 next year (its a tough division). Gibbs first season he lost his first 5 games, but the rest of his career he NEVER had a losing streak of more than 2 games. The Redskins have talent (and now the 5th pick too cause of sucking last year), and coaching is the MOST IMPORTANT thing in the NFL now. Teams with great coaches win.

he's been out of coaching for a while, longer than parcells. also i wuz skeptical of parcells too last year. also parcells had a reputation for ressurecting a lot of teams and took the horrible 1-15 jets to a 9-7 season in his first year there and took them to a 12-4 season and an afc championship game in his second season, unfortunately for me we had bill belichick as our coach for a total of 18 hours after parcells left and then al groh.

Gibbs has 3 Superbowl rings in 12 seasons. Gibbs has 10 winning seasons in 12 seasons. All the sports minds think he is going be a great coach next year and turn the team around.

vermeil was out for 10+ years, and came back, in his 3rd year back he won the super bowl. something similar could happen with the Redskins, or it could be like skierdude said with parcells and the Jets.

also, the redskins have a talented but underachieving O line. Bugel is considered by almost everyone to be the best offensive line coach ever. and Bugel is the Assistant coach

im always skeptical about these coaches that have been gone a while and then come back and r supposed to transform the team into a contender. the pattern favors gibbs and the skins though (parcells, vermill) but im still skeptical. they still have the same team that they had when spurrier wuz the coach so they havent upgraded personnel wise. they r also in a very tough division philly should be good next year, dallas may be good and the giants are gonna be a wild card in this thing. the g-men were supposed to be super bowl contenders this season and suffered many key injuries, especially in the secondary. both starting corners, the starting strong safety and the nickel back/second string corner were all on ir which left them starting a bunch of undrafted free agents in the secondary. i think that the giants are a much better team than they showed this season, and if they arent i will still watch there games bcuz its just funny watching how bad they were. like ive said before im a jets fan but i root for the giants also in most games but it is fun to laugh at their mistakes and make fun of how bad they played.

hey now that the redskins got gibbs back, what do you think the chances are the bills will get the 78 year old Marv Levy to come back...he says he wants to coach...on the radio he said it was age discrimination...although by the way he talks he could pass for a 40 year old...the guy is in great shape runs 3 miles everyday, works out and everything, i say bring MARV back!!!

Why must you be young to be a coach? i would take an old coach over a young coach (except in basketball, where i would take a younger black coach every time) I think that some coaches retire for no reason, and they should be brought back. Gibbs was doing fine, and then just retired, same with Lombardi (well he came back, and then died) Obviously Parcells could do it, Vermeil could do it. the older coaches are better, they have tried everything, they know what works. I think some old coaches are serously overlooked.
