Here's hoping Barcelona can put up 1/6th of that at Stamford Bridge.

So, the game that decides the fate of the human race football. I'm sure it says something about me that I'm far more nervous about this than exams.

I'm not saying I believe in god now, but.....justice, at least.

(trying to explain the away goals rule to soccer novices was way more difficult than any of this school censored )

Honestly, when Iniesta put that in, I yelled so loud that I cried, somehow. I don't remember the last time I have been this delighted with an outcome.

I was talking to a few people sort of casually, trying to play it cool, but when Barca got into pretty good position I started mumbling "allez" repeatedly, and when Iniesta got it I half yelled "frappe". I yelled "but" quite loudly when it went in, and proceeded to hug, like, four people. Who were probably pretty stunned (I'm not exactly a loud dude).

(the whole thing where I associate French with soccer now is totally a product of watching every OM match for the past few years, most of them on shoddy streams from various French channels)

Also, on Essien's goal, I said " censored " the second it came off his foot. I could tell it was going in. I like Essien, relatively speaking, but still. Ugh.

edit: also, I should note that I was pretty surprised that just about everybody that passed through the lobby showed some sort of interest in the game. a lot of them didn't know much, but still asked "who's playing", or something like that.

We were yelling a lot too at the end, and Olga pretended to be disgusted.

I was watching it with my friend who is a Man U fan, and he was letting me have it for the first few minutes, then Eto'o's came out of nowhere and the rest of the game was just bliss.

The passing from Barcelona today, against a top side that has shut down so many opponents...was just amazing. It is just such a brilliantly put together team, one that I'm really glad I was able to see quite a bit over the course of the season.

On a related note, I sort of want to have Pep Guardiola's babies.

AHHHHHHH. Ricky Rubio's soul purpose in life is to avenge this defeat, at this point.

/combining the two things I post about that nobody givesafuckabout.

edit: I'm listening to Wu Tang to complete the trifecta.

The US is going to need one more goal to win this one, I think.

Totally your fault.

Oh well. Lots of things to improve on from that second half (part of it on Bradley), but the first half was encouraging. Hopefully this is something they can build on. There are players that can be added, adjustments that can be made, but they've found a decent base at this tournament.

Landon's totally trying not to yell at this British interviewer.
