And also, I'll probably watch it since I like poker and I did like ESPN's last series (PlayMakers)

I like playing poker but I can't stand watching it. I liked Playmakers but I didn't like a lot of the ESPN original movies like Hustle or 3. So I probably won't be watching it.

I love watching poker tournaments. Daniel Negraneau is my favorite player by far.

I'll definately watch Tilt. I just wish ESPN wouldnt play the previews every commercial break.

Poker is pretty life in college. Everyone plays it, regardless of who you are. I'll probably watch the first 3 episodes of Tilt, then probably give up, and watch some other show. Like BSG.

Oh, and aside from football, basketball, baseball, soccer, hockey, most other things aren't sports. Though I am sure there are exceptions (Curling? Cricket?). Poker is NOT a sport. At most, it's a competition, but most definately NOT a sport.

Poker isn't a sport but it probably takes more skill at the pro level then a lot of "sports".

true anybody can get lucky once or twice in poker, but eventually the best poker players will face off against each other. To be a good poker player you need more practice than other sports, becasue there are so many different situations in poker knowledge is soo important. In terms of intelligence and knowledge of the game poker requires more of that skill than other sports.

It's a different set of skills entirely. Poker is not only about knowing which cards will win it, it's about reading you opponent, bluffing, and so on.

In baseball, it's more dependent on eye sight, being able to discern a heater from a breaking ball, judging if you can make a line on a foul ball, etc. Yes, to a degree, bluffing, reading the opposition IS there, but baseball it's more dependant on physical skills.

Apples and oranges, people.

yes i agree its harder to be a baseball player thats why i dream of being in majors some day, but poker is a game that takes more knowledge. Baseball requires a lot knowledge game situations and such thats why i like both of the these sports/games, because they require knowledge and intelligence.

I have seen the shows and found them fairly entertaining. I do think that ESPN is a little hypocritical with airing a Behind the Lines show about how the poker popularity is hurting the youth in this nation, then still shows the poker tournaments and then airs this show.

I don't believe that poker is a sport, it is as much of a sport as any other card game is. It is a mixture of skill and luck.

If you want a sport where you are using your mind as well as your body any maritial arts discipline has that. In matches you are always reading the other person for "tells" and making adjustments for your attacks and counters.

Espn is a bit hyprocritical for sure, this show if anything has kinda drawn me away from actually playing poker, especially in a harsh environment like las vegas. You ahve to admit that the Matidor's daughter is hot, thats what keeps me interested.

It's also a game where if you don't now the players you could be the "mark" and get taken for a lot of money.
