And to add to whisk's list...

Mike Fetters and his long-lost twin Mark Grace.

I thought the Best starting pitcher thread was nice so I want to get some opinions here.
Who was your favorite pitcher to watch work a game? It could be closer or starter or one of those loser lefties they bring in to get 1 guy.

Who was your favorite to watch work?

John Burkett eh? He was quite a pick up for the Rangers back in 96. Too bad he had to play the Yanks in the first round of the playoffs that year.

Yea that hurt to watch. I think they owned him a couple of times when he was with Boston also. Burket had a great delivery. He looked like he was playing chess when he pitched. totally focused and he seemed to have no talent. I watched one game in 1993 for the Giants he had a 7 inning no-hitter and then to start the seventh gave up a extra base hit walked two and keept the shut out. It was so painful to watch I had no finger nails left. Giants won like 2-0 and Burkett was so dry in the ninth that he was throwning 79- 82 MPH and still and comand.

I feel bad for not noticing this before, but that is by far the best "Wagh" I've seen yet.

Grew up in the sixties and for me it was Koufax and Marichal and Sudden Sam McDowell (Tribe). In the seventies it had to be Vida Blue. However being a (transplanted) New Yorker and a Yankees fan from the awful teams of the sixties my all time favorite to watch and root for was the incredibly underrated Mel Stottlemyre. Nowadays I really enjoy Willis who really reminds me of Blue.

Yeah, Marichal's delivery was crazy. I love watching Prior pitch. His mechanics are amazing.

By the way, when did Nolan Ryan learn control?

Well, since I've unfortunately never been to a major league game,

you really gotta get out of Mississippi more.
