I hate all politicians in general (don't we all) really I think both vice president elects would have made better presidents. Really we need to fix the problems in our country before we fix others. There are many problems these rich white people do not see. They just see their perfect little millionaire world. Anyway I don't want to get into this really, but I just did didnt I.

The worst of all the Democratic candidates, IMO, conservative as any Republican I've ever seen.

His point being, though, that Liberman would've been a better President than Bush, which I would probably agree with. And if he also means to include VP Cheney in that, I disagree. Cheney is an old, evil, scary man with an agenda.

Also...I think it's typical for a President to wait a few days before touring a disaster area, be it from wildfires, earthquakes, or whatever. Think about it: Wherever the president goes, there has to be a big todo about it...Secret Service, etc. When you've got rescue workers digging through a pile, that's the last thing you need. I think they waited until they were sure it was a recovery operation, and not a rescue. Before then, he just would've been in the way. That's a theory, anyway.

Al Franken makes a very interesting point in his latest book. He says that Homeland Security, attacking bin Laden, and all the major points of the war on terror were divised by the Clinton Adminstration in its waining days. That, in fact, Sandy Berger met with Condi Rice and harped on the terrorist threat. Condi denied meeting with Berger in one publication and confirmed it in another, so who knows, but it makes sense if you think about it... The first WTC attack, the embassy bombings, and the USS Cole attack all happened on Clinton's watch--not to mention Oklahoma City. He was probably pretty concerned about this stuff, and probably saw it as the growing threat it indeed was. He did try to take out Osama during the Monica fiasco. Franken suggests that the Bush Administration took this lovely plan, shelved it, denied the FBI the extra funding it requested to hunt down terrorists, and then reinstated the plan post-9/11... And took credit for it...and blamed Clinton for not paying enough attention during his term...

Coming from Al Franken, you wonder a bit--since he's a real right-basher. Still, intriguing stuff.

i did nothing to start this, but to chime in, Al Gore said something along the lines of "I took the initiative to invent the internet" my grandmother who liked Gore said he didnt say that, and then read that to me, and she was like "well he didnt EXACTLY say he invented the internet"

Well, all right. The problem is, that's exactly what he did. He should've said something like... "I took the initiative in the development of the internet." "Development" sounds like something a manager does...not actually invent or program or anything, but just grease the wheels of progress. He should've left the word "invent" out of it. He misspoke. If President Bush is any indication, there's a real price to be paid for misspeaking in this country.

If you're a democrat.

i agree with cubsfan that most of these politicians just see there perfect millionaire world. that sux for most of us since there arent very many other ppl that live in the same world. i mean my uncle jeff is rich and he's a lot different than me. hes got a 6,000 dollar tv in his kitchen, hes got 1,000 tv channels, and my little cousin gets EVERYTHING she wants except a dog. my second cousin is rich to and they do things like hike up mount kilamanjaro, ski glaciers in alaska, and send out these annoying family newsletters to brag about all the great stuff they did and how great their kids are. o well atleast i am taller than her 17 year old son. of course im only 5'7" so thats not that big. but i think that some people in bush's cabinet would be better presidents than he is. like colin powell for example. i would like to see a middle class person without a secret agenda who knew wut middle class america needs but that wont happen since u need to be super rich to run for president.
