Hypotheticals are fine. And they have been discussed at length in "real" baseball terms. The problem is when it becomes thread after thread after thread of the exact same debate/discussion.

What would have been wrong with one simple post that said: Debatable HOF Candidates? Simply listing them all in one place:

Which of these players deserves to be in and which does not, discuss:

Player A
Player B
Player C
etc.

Instead of a new thread for every Tom, Dick or Harry to pick up a censored baseball bat.

The lists are fine too. But once you've done the top 25 hitters and top 25 pitchers, there really is no need to revisit it after each season. Babe Ruth isn't getting any better (or worse), folks.

Zombie Babe Ruth, on the other hand, continues to watch his skills deteriorate. Of course, we don't know much about the inner workings of postmortem flesh, so perhaps this is simply a natural dip that he will rebound from.

Paging Jamie Moyer. HA! See how I brought this carousel full-circle? See? See?

"So Jamie, how do you explain the fact that you've continued to be successful at a high level at an age when most players have long since left the game behind?"
"Well, I'll tell you Erin, it all has to do with delicious BRAAAAAAAAAAAINS!"

Awesome. Do you really think Jamie Moyer will still be active in his 90s? (ZBR age)

The divine Erin Andrews is in line to ride my junk, Tim. In fact, she gets cuts in front of Sarah.

she is awesome, for reals. saying there were no brains was a point in her favor.

i also think that one from fox with the jubblies should ride your junk, although she is not as preferred as erin. i place her between erin and sarah.

Yeah, for the record, those that know me are well aware that I was enrolled in five years of college before joining the Marines. I had some time to squeeze some Wilde in there somewhere, as well as freakin write a paper on it. I still failed World Lit.

I had to read that in high school, along with a few other people, and give a presentation on it. I was the only one who read it, of course, and spent about 2 minutes talking about the book and 3 minutes bullshitting/trying to get the other people to act like they knew what the censored was up. Good times.

That was my problem, yes. Note that I said "enrolled in" instead of "did", because the fact is outside of my joe job I didn't really do much of anything in those five years. You live, you learn, you go to the sandbox in uniform.

Geez,

New guys come along and post hof and top whatever lists for discussion and get ripped for it. What's the big deal? If you're tired of the conversion excercise your right to NOT READ the thread. Why be a bunch of jerks because someone new to the sight posts. What are you the freaking message board police?

Har. You have to understand that some of the people on this board have been here in excess of five years. There is a club mentality among them, and newcomers are regarded as a source of amusement, much like monkeys on tricycles:

This is what you are in our eyes, newbie

Don't take it personally. Being dickish is what passes for style and seniority around here.

What? Among slams against me I've personally witnessed, that was chump change.

Or maybe chimp change!

My hand is extended forward for a high five. But will i pull it back if you go for it?

Pulling your hand back from a high five, learned at age 3, fun for a lifetime. Its like farting with your hand.
Duff77

Or just farting, generally, which my son is already a master at.
