They've tested out goalline officials in other competitions. I don't know if there are plans to make it a thing on a wider basis.

I mean, instant replay or some junks maybe.

I mean, a single goal is a massive swing, and they seem to get at least one goal wrong per match.

I think the FIFA President just sort of reversed course today and said they'd look into goal line technology. Personally, that is the only part of the pitch I'd like to see instant replay or any of that stuff. If they started reviewing offsides calls and fouls and corner kicks and stuff it would get pretty terrible.

(Looking forward to this next game. I hope Spain destroys those pricks.)

Well, less than that, but yea. They'll make sure that change comes as slowly as possible, but I'd guess that it will happen in the next few years, at least on some level.

edit: oh wow pregnant and isht.

God, yes, the universe wants Spain to win this one. But Ronaldo's ego has it's own gravitational field, so we'll call it a push.

I'd be happy with review on all goals, at the discretion of an extra official (no challenges, in other words). If you limit review to the goal line only, you can't do anything about, say, Thierry Henry and the Hand of Fraud.

Portugal is the last villain remaining, and so will probably beat Spain and Paraguay on penalties.

Word.

(if they're going to have anyone looking at replays it has to be a separate official from the ones on the field. if that is what happens, it shouldn't be too disruptive in any circumstance. but hopefully they wouldn't get stupid with the application of replay.)

((of course they would get stupid with the application of replay))

piffle. you spent to much time in slow-vakia. this world cup belongs to South America. and Argentina is the hate child of South America.

(their team is pretty awesome though. much better than portugal.)

No no no, motherfuck Germany, they are basically the Polish National Team. (Are people still mad about that? I remember it being a thing in 2006.)

Nah. It's weird, nobody's even complained about Cacau, as far as I can tell.

Huh. Come to think of it, Cacau isn't a terribly Teutonic name, is it?

I've been giving it a lot of thought, and I've decided the best descriptor for Christiano Ronaldo is "dewy cunt."

DID YOU KNOW THAT PORTUGAL IS RIGHT NEXT TO SPAIN I DID NOT KNOW THAT.

(I've decided that, despite fat fucking Maradona and Lionel Messi's Steve Perry haircut I am totally rooting for Argentina to win this thing.)
