If he's desirous of a team that is competitive again, this could be a good thing, assuming that he stays away from those awful black quarterbacks the left-wing media keeps overhyping.

the only time I capitalize it is when I type the Holy Bible (or Holy Book, same thing).

it is a common understanding that when you say "the bible", you are referring to the Hebrew holy book, with the main characters of Moses and David, along with the Christian characters Jesus, Peter and Paul.

we capitalize the names of every other book, why not this one, giorgie?

intellectual integrity, people.

I think I'll start calling Moneyball my Bible now.

Do you think the Rush-owned Rams would refuse to draft Tim Tebow, because he plays like the stereotypical black quarterback?

(We're not talking about bibles.)

so did bobby douglass.

why so racist giorgie?

black QB's are all the rage now. the stereotype is long gone.

williams, moon, cunningham, mcnair, mcnabb, have proved it false.

the problem has always been the running QB. Staubach faced it, Tarkenton, even Steve Young. Big hits happen when you venture out of the pocket, so it went, and the QB should stay put. It was discovered that the big hits happen in the pocket, not out, and so QB's who could scramble were given a slight up tic in their stature. Guys like Warner get hammered back there, guys like Manning almost never do.

(manning isn't a "scrambler" in the truest sense, but he is light on his feet and avoids the rush like few others.)

Are you counting the spygate super bowl? Because, other than that, they have only won one super bowl.

yeah, it's not the same at all, actually. there are several different holy books and only one 'holy bible'.

Shep, Craig is referring to the Rush-McNabb issue that got him kicked from MNF. How could you have missed that?

I hope Rush gets the team, because all the football world is lacking to take over the world is an embrace of scorched earth politics.

my first guess is that he was too busy knocking jimmy the greek for not having intellectual integrity.

Rush is a comedian. The fact that anyone ever took him seriously proves that the joke is on society. His buying the Rams would mean that the Belichick Patriots would become my second least favorite team, and I would hate for that to happen.

Oh, did the only win the one against the Titans? My bad. Then they deserve a lesser evil. Like Kim Jong-Il.

Deke, the name of the book is the Holy Bible (whether you think it should be called that or not). If I was referring to the book, "The Secret", I would capitalize it (as I just did), not because I believe it, but because that's the name of the book. Your beliefs have nothing, at all, to do with it.

The Q'uran is called the Holy Q'uran.

Why must you make yourself look stupid?

It's simple English grammar. We capitalize the names of books.

Got it? I hope so...

But if The Secret came out with several hundred different versions, would they all be a collective 'The Secret', or would everyone refer to them as 'that pile of crap over there'.

Intellectual.... INTEGRITY!!!

You are viewing the raw post code; this allows you to copy a message with BBCode formatting intact.
Each version has it's unique stamp (NIV, KJV, NASV, etc.). They are after all, translations of an ancient text, and subject to interpretation. Some are "literal", and some are transliterations, and some are attempting to give exact meanings when figurative language is used.

To use the language you just used in this discussion is beneath you, Aaron.

Oh, I just like to have my fun, carry on.

(Besides all that, damn, I use language like that all the time.)

Something here is beneath you, Aaron, but it's not the language (It's talking about bibles is what.)

He'd probably try to play quarterback. And then everyone else would just sort of pretend he was really good at it.
