Select area improvement idea

Not sure if anyone has brought this improvement up, but I think this would make the game more realistic and give managers more control.
Let's say you have a young 20 year old pitcher. He has a B for endurance, a B for Velocity, a D+ fo control and a C- for bunting. He is assigned to your minor league team for training. Now in the real world if you have a player like this, the pitching coach would normaly concentrate on this guys control. They would not be as worried about his Velocity or Endurance. So while in training, he would be working on his Control and some bunting. I suggest a drop down menu, like the Alt Position box, where we can dictate which areas we want to try and gain improvemnt in. So I would click on the drop down and choose 'Control'. He would have the same chances of improvement as everyone else, but only in that one area. Then during the season if we want him to work on bunting, we can change it, and only bunting is able to garner any upgrading. The box would also need to have "All" as a defult, which would work as it does now.
It is real frustrating to see players get improvements in catagories that are already in good shape and not in their weak areas. I think bringing this to a more realistic level and being able to control what areas each player can work on, would be a great step for this game as well as adding more fun with a personal touch. Maybe limit this, like you do with CP's, the amount of players that can receive select upgrading. Example, only the players with actual CP's assigned can have this special feature. So once you place points in CP column, then the drop down menu will give the options other then "ALL"
Thanks for reading all of this!

Would be to make the CP's count X2 for selected players. So, If you want to improve on bunting and the player has 5 CP points, it will count as 10 toward the 15 CP points for your team. This will make it so managers will only point 1-3 points on selective skills, which would make it less likely to go up to quick, therefore keeping game integrity and not making the league swamped with star players.
Also, I think that this ability can only be used on 'C' or lower abilities. Once the catagory improves to C+, it can no longer be upgraded by this format.

I believe I've seen Tyson comment on something like this before. If we were allowed to do this then everyone would focus on control and power vs. righties since they're the most important categories in simdynasty. But your last statement was good, maybe we could lower the amount of CP's per skill....or get the option to divide the 5 CP's among certain categories(no more than 2 per category) that way they dont improve too much. But i dont know the programming logic that he uses so i dont know if this is possible

The front running idea in this area right now is one where you could pick a skill NOT to improve in - without penalty.
But that being said, I don't plan on adjusting this anytime soon - I'm going to take a crack at fixing the talent inflation idea and I don't want to make too many changes at the same time that affect talent inflation until we get a proper solution in place.

How about allowing GMs to target position changes in the off-season. They could specify a certain number of the players improvement chances be applied towards a new position. I'm sure this option would not be used a great deal. Still, I think it would be nice for a player to be able to gain some skill in a new position in the off season instead of learning on the job. I think this would benefit some of those teams that used BA and got 8-10 guys at one position. I think it would also have a very, very minor positive effect on talent inflation.
