Turn off Endurance Handicap during playoffs

June 13, 2006 at 02:19PM View BBCode

I posted the following in the "Suggest Enhancements" forum and am posting it here because I find the NY Zephyrs in the same position.
i just figured out what I don't like...

... about the new code not allowing RPs to be placed in SP slots if their endurance is below C-.

My team [url=http://www.simdynasty.com/depth.jsp?teamid=13200]OCL Wolves[/url] have made the playoffs. Unfortunately, the Wolves have 2 injured RPs that will become healthy during the LCS.

I wanted to put one of them in the 5th starter slot because the 5th slot is a "holding tank" for one player.... but ABE won't allow that because of the endurance handicap.

This means that I will have to field a team with 2 injured RPs (the closer and setup man).

Is there a way to turn off the endurance handicap during the LCS and WS so teams have an option to store a RP as a 5th starter.

Here is another reason the endurance handicap should be turned off during the playoffs...

Its the 7th game of the World Series. I would like to adjust my rotation by placing all my best pitchers as RPs. Can't do it... ABE won't let me to move the D endurance pitchers into starting slots.

Looks like I will have to play with a couple of tired (red bar) RPs wasting space as relievers.

I've made a change on Beta to address this.

If you are in October and have more than 90 wins, you can do what you want with SP/RP.

I wanted to make it playoff teams only more or less - so the rebuilding teams couldn't take advantage of this for the next season. But I didn't want to hit the database again - so I figure this covers playoff teams.

This sounds like a good change.

Take a look at the [url=http://beta.simdynasty.com/standings.jsp]Beta Standings[/url].

The Philadelphia Traders are in the World Series, but only had 87 wins during the season.

Perhaps it is better to set the win threshold from 90 to 85.
