Pitching Around batters

Sierra, its been my experience, that there have been a lot of 8th spot hitters getting walks throught the leagues I am playing in bringing up the pitchers in 2 out situations. I assumed there may have been something "built in" just for that logical move(I'm probably wrong), but it has happened so much that I became convinced it had to be other than probability.

Also, I have noticed a lot of walks to HR hitters their next time up. Again, I have no data for this, just something I have kept my eye on over the hundreds of games I've watched.

Closer - that doesn't exist yet.

Intentional walks should be in another discussion.

Hey Closer,

Maybe it doesn't exist yet, but it sure seems like it in the 100's of games I have watched as well.

Perhaps Tyson has created someting that has a life of its own.

Agreed, There definitely seems to be a pattern of walks to the 8th batter, especially with 2 outs. I'm more sure of this than the walk to the guy who hit a homer in his last at bat. But, it sure rings in my memory as a fairly consistent occurrence also.

There's nothing in the code that does this.

I hadn't noticed that to be honest.

I think this is offtopic for this discussion. But even if stats showed that its true, it could be caused by something else. For example, if your pitcher is allowing the 6th or 7th hitter to reach 2nd, he's probably more likely to walk the 8th hitter than a pitcher who doesn't allow the 7th hitter to reach 2nd.
