Hi, Keth and Postal99. You already have started a good MB thread here. Congratulations for setting this up although I haven't tried to use a Draft Pick or CPs as trading tools, I can see were it might work. your trade involved two players and moving trading positions in the fifth round depending on how the Draft slots are allocated. If the season ended right now then NYY would move from the 80th position to the 66th position and BBK vice versa.
Here's another thought that might help if there is ever a dispute on this trade since it has to be monitored by the teams involved. That would be to include the Player's cards involved in the trade as there is a trade history that can be recalled by the date of the trade. Just a thought:

CRUSADER-that's the idea behind the trade. My team should finish pretty low in the standings and KETH's should finish pretty high. So I'm willing to trade a possible throw away pick for a good back-up outfielder. My outfielders, major + minor are slim pickins. Hopefully someothers will use this tactic also. BUT, like you noted, it does have to be monitored and any owner who does not complete their trade after the draft should be banned from trading. (Just a thought.) What do other people think?

I agree on banning anyone from trading who does not live up to their agreements. It would obviously be up to each GM to enforce this by not trading with the offending party. I hope it never happens. As to keeping track of the players involved, good call. Grimes was the throwaway that had to be included to make the deal work so no need to worry about him. He was immediately released.:D

NY-AL/PITTSBURG DEAL

August 30, 2003 at 02:58PM View BBCode

NY-AL Sends the 5th round pick it received from Baltimore in the McQuaig deal to Pittsburgh in return for Frank Knoll. In addition, if Knoll does not retire, NY will also send Pitts it's 3rd round pick in the 1952 amatuer draft.

pretty gutsy trade there. as world series champs, looks like your trying to wrap up 2 years in a row my seemingly making your pitching staff even stronger (GEE THANKS). it will be interesting to see how long you can maintain while trading away youth. are you related to George, you know, that guy that owns the Yankees.

hope you got my preferences. it was nice to do business with you. the youth movement is pretty much on in philly. as far as the comment on trading away youth two of the pitchers washington picked up are under 30. so they are basicly in the beginning of their prime, and by no means hurting washingtons future. coming from the guy who just gave them up i would have to say that it easily makes washington the favorite for next year, and i wouldnt count him out the following few either. if i had an offense like his aging, but great i would have tried to improve for next year too. unfortunately i didnt have a 100 rbi guy on my team, and they where getting old which means i had to look to the further future.
with the completion of this trade every player on my team older than 24 is available. im only looking for youth as in 24 and under and c or better average rating. make offers.

My reason for the trade

September 15, 2003 at 04:01AM View BBCode

#1 I have the last picks in the amatuer draft.
#2 I think that with this trade I will competing for the WS for at least two more years. In addition I can always trade away some pitching now seeing as i have a couple of very good 26 - 27 yr olds SP's as well as the 28- 29 and two 32 yr olds.
#3 My hitting will be fine for at least 2 -3 more years as long as they get the at bats.
#4 I do not make alot of trades unless I feel they are exactly what I want. I dont trade just to trade. This trade was too much value to pass up. I have not been through an amatuer draft yet, but i believe that after first two rounds talent will be scarce. So we will see what happens. I am happy though.

Philly: Your 1st message with the settings was fine but after that you sent a 2nd one that was highly confused. Please send me one message that clearly states what you want.
Or post the settings here if you are not worried about others seeing them.
Thanks and nice doing business with you. Good luck on your rebuilding!

The Nationals made out in this trade! I guess it is good for my team, because now all the good pitching is in the other league! :D

[color=purple]Sorry, Postal , you have confused me with the "other New York" team. Them be, the Yankees.[/color]

You have to deal with Keth. From the thread it appears that your 5th round pick ends up in Pittsburgh.
We are the NY Knights and do not have any part of the draft pick trades that you are trying to resolve.

The Yankees fifth is:
Scott Jones (here's his card)
http://www.simdynasty.com/player.jsp?id=341661

Maybe we will have some trades in the future, right now I am digesting the results of the Amateur Draft.

Take care...I will post this on the Draft Pick Thread also.

well NY-yankees, it looks like Frank Knoll is going to pitch this year, even though he is 37, maybe he is trying to be like Nolan Ryan
