trade with exchange of 5th round draft picks between new york and baltimore accepted.August 11, 2003 at 03:38PM View BBCode
Hi, Keth and Postal99. You already have started a good MB thread here. Congratulations for setting this up although I haven't tried to use a Draft Pick or CPs as trading tools, I can see were it might work. your trade involved two players and moving trading positions in the fifth round depending on how the Draft slots are allocated. If the season ended right now then NYY would move from the 80th position to the 66th position and BBK vice versa.August 11, 2003 at 06:01PM View BBCode
CRUSADER-that's the idea behind the trade. My team should finish pretty low in the standings and KETH's should finish pretty high. So I'm willing to trade a possible throw away pick for a good back-up outfielder. My outfielders, major + minor are slim pickins. Hopefully someothers will use this tactic also. BUT, like you noted, it does have to be monitored and any owner who does not complete their trade after the draft should be banned from trading. (Just a thought.) What do other people think?August 11, 2003 at 09:00PM View BBCode
I agree on banning anyone from trading who does not live up to their agreements. It would obviously be up to each GM to enforce this by not trading with the offending party. I hope it never happens. As to keeping track of the players involved, good call. Grimes was the throwaway that had to be included to make the deal work so no need to worry about him. He was immediately released.:DAugust 23, 2003 at 04:55AM View BBCode

NY-AL Sends the 5th round pick it received from Baltimore in the McQuaig deal to Pittsburgh in return for Frank Knoll. In addition, if Knoll does not retire, NY will also send Pitts it's 3rd round pick in the 1952 amatuer draft.September 14, 2003 at 06:30PM View BBCode
Philadelphia traded SP's Hambricht, Griffin, St. Claire to Washingotn for Frankie Ely and 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th round draft picks in upcoming amatuer draft. Philadelphia will need to send me settings for those rounds.September 14, 2003 at 07:38PM View BBCode
pretty gutsy trade there. as world series champs, looks like your trying to wrap up 2 years in a row my seemingly making your pitching staff even stronger (GEE THANKS). it will be interesting to see how long you can maintain while trading away youth. are you related to George, you know, that guy that owns the Yankees.September 14, 2003 at 08:05PM View BBCode
hope you got my preferences. it was nice to do business with you. the youth movement is pretty much on in philly. as far as the comment on trading away youth two of the pitchers washington picked up are under 30. so they are basicly in the beginning of their prime, and by no means hurting washingtons future. coming from the guy who just gave them up i would have to say that it easily makes washington the favorite for next year, and i wouldnt count him out the following few either. if i had an offense like his aging, but great i would have tried to improve for next year too. unfortunately i didnt have a 100 rbi guy on my team, and they where getting old which means i had to look to the further future.September 15, 2003 at 04:01AM View BBCode
