How long before scheduled game times is one able to tinker with the lineup and rotation?

you should be able to tinker right up until game time.

With batters it's never been a problem, but with the rotation, I've had trouble before trying to change the next SP

i usually found if you hit update position twice in a row with same SP change it will usually do it if pitcher is rested
