The all-star second basemen in the Jim Mutrie AL is hitting .286 with 5 HR and 5 SB (126 AB). My 2B is hitting .343 with 6 HR and 1 SB (99 AB). How the heck is ABE saying the all-star is better than my guy??October 26, 2003 at 12:15PM View BBCode
Playing time is a big factor and stolen bases are way overvalued. In this case, 25% more ABs and 5 times as many SBs likely make the difference. Plus, differences in runs and RBIs could also be playing a factor. Bottom line, though, is that the All-Star voting is definitely not perfect -- I just attribute it to ballot-stuffing by the fans.Pages: 1
