What is the phone call issue with Indiana?

When recruiting student-athletes, coaches are only allowed to call them a certain number of times per week? I do not follow the whole football and basketball recruiting process very closely, so I am trying to understand the uproar.

It appears he was at least a 3rd party on many phone calls.
(I have grounded my teens like this, but usually only for a week.)

The report I heard was that Sampson is on probation. Part of the probation is he cannot make ANY phone calls on the part of IU to recruits.It appears he was at least a 3rd party on many phone calls.

I think the big deal is that he supposedly lied to the NCAA about things...but I haven't really been keeping up with it much.Pages: 1
