So I brought this up 4 seasons ago and saw little of no support at that time. But, now that most of our original teams are gone perhaps it is time to start working on a hall of fame.May 26, 2008 at 06:22PM View BBCode
I think this is fine. I know Clyde Rosar (an original Storm, also played with StL for several seasons) is on the brink of retirement, and as a 2-time MVP and multi-time All-Star I would like to see him get some kind of recognition as he was an anchor in my lineup for many seasons, and helped bring the Storm back to winning ways this past season.May 27, 2008 at 01:08AM View BBCode
Good rules. Who volunteers to oversee the Hall -- posting the thread, counting the votes, maintaining and posting the list?May 27, 2008 at 10:49AM View BBCode
I would be glad to take care of our Hall of Fame.May 27, 2008 at 10:55AM View BBCode
BTW. The comish should be the one to appoint a manager to take care of the hall of fame. And to change that manager when he sees fit.May 27, 2008 at 12:54PM View BBCode
The proposed rules look good to me. Baltimore gives this a thumbs-up.May 27, 2008 at 07:41PM View BBCode
As said before....looks good to me as well. Any other volunteers to manage the hall besides thindad? Or put another way, anybody object to thindad being the first manager of the hall?May 27, 2008 at 08:38PM View BBCode
I have no objections, especially seeing as how it was he that took the time to come up with all of the standards and rules and procedures. He is also a founding owner so he has been around from the beginning, which I think is an advantage to managing the Hall as opposed to the managers that took over teams for the second term (no offense).May 28, 2008 at 03:46PM View BBCode
Wiseguys approve the rules and have no objections to thindad running it.May 28, 2008 at 04:05PM View BBCode
I'd like to add something to the rules, actually. I'd like to see a limit on the amount of nominees each manager can make in a given season...I just think it's a waste of time to be able to nominate literally an entire team per manager per season.May 28, 2008 at 08:26PM View BBCode
I agree with thindad running the HOF, but I can think of one rule change and that would be for older players that were drafted in 1950 and didn't have a 10 year career, because of the age that they were drafted at in the intial season. An example would be a pitcher who pitched for my 69ers, Ray Hinchliffe.... He pitched for 8 years, won 3 Cy Young awards, had a 122-45 record and a lifetime era of 2.49.....He was the dominite pitcher in the early years of the league and I don't think that there is any way that he should be left out of the HOF.....I am sure that there are other players that have a similar situaction......May 29, 2008 at 12:31AM View BBCode
Okay, so two possible amendments to the rules.....1) The 10 year career minimum is waived for players that were in the league in its inaugural year; and 2) Owners can nominate no more than three players each season (or four or five, which one?). I would suggest limiting it to three. I'm okay with both of these amendments. How about you all?May 29, 2008 at 04:07PM View BBCode
